Tattoo Status: Getting a Tattoo

I'm joining the cool club (as if I weren't already the cool club chairman :toocool: (by the way you didn't pay your membership fees and were kicked out)) and will soon be getting my first tattoo. However, I need help in deciding one thing about it.

I'm getting the word 'FOREVER' put on my arm in all-caps, which holds a personal story behind it, meaning I'm not changing it no matter how many of you try to convince me to get the emoticon :Leyla: or 'donkey lover' in Chinese or whatever is hip these days. My question for all of you is, what font should it be in? I'm thinking Impact but apparently certain fonts shouldn't be used for certain things, as a recent PvP comic highlighted for those who still read it. Is Impact some sort of anti-cool font these days? I'm not a member of the font-judgment committee so if it is I wouldn't know. I didn't know people even noticed fonts until the phenomenon revealed itself to me, but here we are.

Thanks for, you know, your time. I'll put in a good word for all of you at the sort of cool club. I hear they're looking for members to increase their ranks, making up for what they lack elsewhere by not having me running it :smug:

Hey, it isn't too late. 50 bucks and you're back in, with a :quote: leading position :quote: in the Club (you get free beer at group meetings up to five dollars worth of beer). The rest pays for this tattoo I'm trying to decide the font for.

As for the font suggestions, Helvetica looks like a less badass Impact and I'm saving Comic Sans ms for when I get hit by a clown car, lose my memory, subsequently regain my memory, and decide to get my name tattooed to my ass just in case that ever happens again (it's the first place I'd look).

(and trying to stay a bit on topic and be helpful, or whatever... have you considered looking at one of those fancy font websites? They have lots of non-standard fonts, some pretty nice. I think that may be cooler, having a font font snobs won't recognize?)

If I may make a suggestion for the actual tattooing part: take a fucking Robax or some kind o muscle relaxant a few hours before hand. Either than or get a massage. I'm the owner of two tattoos and I find doing the above prevents a lot of the pain.

I have a collection of 10500 fonts..i got tired of going through them part-way through the B's :)

Well, thanks for the font and other generator websites, everyone! The fact that no one really had anything to say about Impact kind of makes me think I'll go for that unless someone jumps in to take this font-bullet for me after this post. Thanks again!

Ahhhhh!~ minor derail- I got called to a house for a 9-1-1 and the address was 1337 [Some] St. I almost couldn't repeat the house number over the radio. My brain kept saying "leet! leet!" It took real effort to say 1-3-3-7" :retard:

I would say no to impact just because it's so simple. I'd go for one of the more elegant fonts.. There's this really hard, sharp, but medieval/swoofy/cursive font I'm thinking of. I guess I'll look for it real quick, hang on..

Eh, I couldn't find it. Closest I could find to what I was thinking was "OPEN CLASSIC" or whatever.

Fuggit. Just go with Wingdings. That's a good tattoo font choice. :thumbsup:
