Well no DUH!!! then why in the heck are you slashing education budget across the board?
Note: my views are limited to Community College where we are getting more and more student each year for basic and transfer to 4 year university. Our faculties don't get paid a lot but we have good benefits.
right now we are going to a 15% budget cut cause State is pulling the funds from Community College (and k-12 in Texas)

I am glad that Texas has that rainy day fund to keep us from having to do that... wait... we have it and all state agencies are still cutting budgets by 15%.

Because the U.S. military needs its piece of the budget pie...
It's the same back and forth issue as why 5% of the U.S. population controls 95% of the wealth, and the rest of us are left fighting for ever shrinking scraps.
