You lips say no, but your eyes say yes, eh?

Pepe is one of the few old cartoons that should really stay in that era.

I don't know. I loved the pepe le pew animations. They've made enjoyable movies (or feature length TV shows) from the other major looney tunes characters, and if they do it right I know I'd enjoy it.

Yes, to some degree he's a one dimensional character, but he was always enjoyable to watch. I am interested to see whether they flesh him out more.

Color me intrigued.

I can't even imagine Mike Myers doing Pepe's voice.
This is a big problem with Movies these days: When the original voice actor is dead, they simply hire a famous star and hope they can do it. While from a marketing stand point this makes a lot of sense (Big Star = Big Opening Weekend), it usually just results in a terrible movie. That upcoming Yogi Bear film already looks absolutely terrible, mainly due to the fact that Dan Akroid does a horrible impersonation.

Sounds silly. Pepe le Pew doesn't really translate so well, really. Funnier when I was a kid... now it's kind of creepy. I don't think it's going to warp the poor children or anything like that... just think it's gonna be stupid.

In the updated version the cat can talk, too. (Which always bothered me about the original - the only thing that couldn't talk was that cat. All she needed to be able to say was, "I am not a skunk." But I guess that would have been boring.) She tells Pepe that she's not interested and when he keeps bothering her she gets a restraining order against him. Then the hilarity ensues as he becomes a full-fledged stalker and in the end has to be put down by animal control officers.

Starring Brendon Frasier.

I am sad that this exists. Not because it rapes my childhood (realizing Pepe was a stalker/sexual harasser did that). Not because it represents some epic death of creativity in Hollywood (it doesn't, creativity has always been more exception than rule in Hollywood, the rip offs from yesteryear just end up forgotten). No, it makes me sad because it means that Marvin The Martian, Duck Dodgers, Space Ghost, The Road Runner, Birdman, Top Cat, Wacky Races, and dozens of other Warner Bros./Hanna-Barbera (all owned by the same company now) cartoons that were built on more than one damned joke got passed over or weren't considered at all.

To be fair, Marvin and Duck Dodgers got a FABULOUS TV series a few years back (especially the Green Lantern episode, which was epic) and Space Ghost & Birdman got series from Williams Street that were FAR better than their source material.
