Yeah that whole trailer pretty much banks on you completing KotoR 1. The mask they find is Revan's, and HK-47 is a party member from the game.
The integration of the dialog wheel and the quest stuff actually being fully interactive like that is pretty awesome. Definitely looks to be more immersive than WoW or other games with that addition alone.

I am concerned about the sysreqs, though. My desktop is really starting to choke on new games, despite a decent video card (slow processor), and there's no way in hell I'm buying a new desktop just to play games at this current point in time.

I'm not buying a new system until I know it can play Dark Millennium Online, so a while from now.
Bioware has said they want this to be playable on most PCs. I question that. Blizzard's pretty amazing at getting new games to play on even old shit computers. I've used the example before of WoW running on a 1998 comp. I haven't seen other companies make good on that, as if they're unaware that one of WoW's appeals is that even when it was released, it didn't require a new system to play. Will Bioware be that smart? We'll see. The Old Republic is still a ways off.

Blizz managed to do something a lot of MMO's don't get right, and that's making a game pretty through texture work instead of poly count. The models themselves are astoundingly simple, but even at low end settings the game isn't truly ugly like others tend to be at the same level.
Old Republic looks good in the previews but I agree, it along with FFXIV are worrying me on the sysreq front. My comp is getting old, and I am definitely not in the monetary position to upgrade anything.

Through power, I gain victory.
Through victory, my chains are broken.

Why don't lightsabers ever cut people in half in Star Wars games?..

Because developers need to separate story and gameplay just like in any other game.
Edit: Also, cortosis weaves everywhar.

Really wish the gameplay was more involved, but I did enjoy KOTOR.
