While I don't have an issue with this particular bill, I really wish Chuck Schumer wouldn't insert himself into tech-related stuff. He's just not knowledgeable, and some of the largest media corporations in the world contribute to his campaign warchest, so his involvement makes me wonder what the catch is.

It was actually really annoying. Then I stopped watching live TV.

Instant fix, no taxpayer funded politicians needed.

There should be a campaign spending limit. Honestly, spending 4 million dollars on a local campaign is obscene when so many people are just looking for work.

Am I the only one who fully supports this bill?

I hate when I'm watching TV with the volume turned down while my Girlfriend is asleep and then a commercial comes on at half again the volume and now Dubyamn has a angry woman on hand because jackass advertising guy decides the best way to sell his product is to screw me over.

It sucks visiting my parents. By dad is half deaf, so the TV is already on full-blast, then "BILLY MAYS HERE!!!"

I honestly never really noticed difference in tv volume.

Maybe you have a good TV that has a volume balance feature. Philips did one a long time ago. I don't know if it is still out there.

I think all programs and channels need to have a set volume they all adhere. Seriously I will be watching one channel and I have to turn the thing up because its all whispers, then forget, change the channel and OH GOD MY EARS, THEY BLEED!

I once read somewhere that commercials were capped at being as loud as the loudest point of whatever you were watching. So if, for instance, a tense and talky thriller in which a gun goes off once at the ending...the commercials can (and most likely will) be as loud as that gunshot.

They should also apply this to internet videos too, i stopped watching the Daily Show and Colbert on their sites because the damn ads where 300% louder and watching them at night was problematic.

I don't think it's the bill itself that pissed people off, but the fact that more important ones get bogged down in all sorts of issues...

If the Congress only worked on the hard to pass issues, nothing would ever get done. Some times you have to play softball to get the Congress moving forward.

I stopped watching TV a while ago. I agree with espy; instant fix, sans bureaucracy.

That's what i did too...

This one isn't exactly something being done... and they're not passing some stuff that shouldn't be hard to pass because of stupid politicking...
