It's a rock supergroup with the best parts of Queens of the Stone Age, The Foo Fighters, and Led Zeppelin. The whole first album is on youtube.

To be more specific, Them Crooked Vultures are:

-Josh Homme
-Dave Grohl
-John Paul Jones.

Definitely more Homme than Grohl, Grohl than Jones, but it's an awesome album overall. It's got a jammy-feel to it; I agree with the AV Club, it sounds a lot more like the Dessert Sessions albums...probably because this, too, is a group of musicians having fun and rocking out.

But my god does it kick so much rock n roll ass.

The Pumes

The moment I heard Mind Chaser and New Fang I knew I was in for a treat, so much better than this summer's attempt at a rock and roll supergroup, I am looking at you Dead Weather.

The Pumes

Act One, Scene One

*Pumes walks to his computer to listen to that new hip, totally dope band Them Crooked Vultures. He looks at the song list and chooses 'Reptiles'*
[STRIKE]
Then he will... [/STRIKE]

The rest of the listening experience is this.

So after listening to the whole album I am totally in love with Gunman and Reptiles. I could listen to both over and over again.

The AV club only gave this album a B+.

DUMB.

I can see where they're coming from, though. I just don't really have a fine-tuned ear for production aesthetic alongside what I enjoy (and like, the lyrical stuff).

Anyways, you can't always do what's right...but you can always do what's left :3

i like all the bands these guys came from. someone said that they are largely influenced by zeppelin? i like zeppelin.

i cant stand vultures. for some reason, all those musical influences come together to form something which, to me, is just... bland. i can't really stand any of their songs, even though i desperately want to support a grohl/homme/jones supergroup.

ElJuski

ElJuski

uhh...well a good majority of rock n roll post-Zep is influenced by Zep. Queens is a good example. Now you take Queens and you add a member of Zep, and yeah, it's largely influenced by Led Zeppelin.

That sucks that you think its bland, though. It's like my friend who loves Queens, Kyuss and Vultures...but can't stand Eagles of Death Metal. :(

I pulled them up on youtube, not bad, didn't really catch me on fire tho.
