My wife and I very nearly drove down to the fair today too. Instead we're working. Might not have been the right choice.

Also, I'll go for 4.5 pounds.

I AM BACK. I am going to go weigh myself in. I have not gone to the bathroom, nor have I thrown up, although my wife made us go on this crazy ride and I almost did throw up. The result of said crazy ride means I didn't get to about a quarter of my food list since my stomach decided it was going to take its revenge on me but I did successfully eat a good chunk of that list.
Also: Beautiful weather Saturdays are the WRONG day to go to the state fair. Holy hell there was about 8 billion people there.

---------- Post added at 08:10 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:59 PM ----------

Sadly due to the crazy ride shorting out my full eating schedule I only gained 2 pounds.

None of you could have predicted this awful turn of events so don't feel bad. I fully believe had I gotten through that last third on my list, especially the giant turkey leg I could have hit an easy 4 or 5. Now I am going to the bathroom to get rid of the evidence :awesome:

Chocolate and Bacon go together?

My wife and I got up this morning and went downtown to see the annual Labor Day parade, which we've never gone to. We had a hard time finding where it was though. Turns out that it's on Monday. I asked her if she was sure it was today and she said that is what she heard on the radio. Obviously she shouldn't listen to RONG FM. (Not a real radio station. Just adding that before someone asks.)

Since we were downtown we decided we'd go to the farmer's market - another thing which we've never been able to do. We walked around looking at all the stuff and all the people, enjoyed a breakfast together at a little outdoor cafe and sampled all sorts of food stuff, listened to several sidewalk musicians and had a fantastic day together.

When people ask why I am no longer DJing, I will point to days like today and say, "That right there is the reason." Had I had a gig today I wouldn't have been able to go.

Not just a beautiful Saturday, but the middle of a three-day weekend/holiday for most people, too. So you definitely had 8 quadrillion people there. I spent my beautiful day on the North Shore of Oahu, relaxing in the water and on the sand, and had a shaved ice with ice cream from Matsumoto's store before we went home. Yummy.

Chocolate and Bacon go together?
No. They don't.

The "Big Fat Bacon" was however, amazing. It was big. It was fat. It was BACON.

Matsumoto's is over priced shit! Hawaiian General Store forever! Get the Blue Hawaii flavor with ice cream......I want to be home :(

Matsumoto's was recommended by a teacher at Noah's school. She also said we should get rainbow, but none of us liked the flavors for rainbow. We'll look for the Hawaii General Store next time we go up. I won't turn down shave ice that's for sure!

I need to teach my son to swim before we go back though. He was trying to chase a little local girl into nearly chest high (on him) water, insisting he can swim, and he absolutely cannot.

I am telling you, Matsumoto's isn't all that. The line is rediculous and it is grainier than the stuff you get at the Hawaiian General Store, and Blue Hawaii is delicious and you can get a great lunch at Breakers right next door.

Wasabi Poptart

Oh I know right where Breakers is, too! Though I think we might go to Cholos for lunch instead. :D

Go to Breakers, it is a must after any beach day. The California burger is the best on the menu.
