I wonder if we can keep Le Quack out of this thread.

Also, man I wish someone would make my job look badass.

Let me just say, Frankie, that no matter how much the Winston Smith wannabes might rag on law enforcement, I've got enough respect for you guys to make up for it. I don't see a whole lot of RCMP out where I live (both my hometown and the place I'm living fall under the jurisdiction of the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary), but I know that whichever police force is in charge, it's got to be a difficult job.

And the RCMP gets the shit-end of the stick in this province: the highways and outports.

Or ... it seems like a raw deal. Maybe you would see it differently.

Do YOU get a cattleprod? I think NOT. You cannot be a true Mountie without one.

The same reason why no one can be a true Model with ARROGANCE!

I deal with so many crackheads and drunks on a nightly basis, being relegated to highway patrol would be awesome.

I think any movie or show about a career makes it seem badass. Take Black Dog starring Kurt Russel. That movie makes truckers look like they're kings among men, and gods among us regular pleb drivers.

I do enjoy watching the forensics lab shit on CSI. They make loading an agarose gel look like it's the most advanced technology eva.

Next season on Fox - QA Omaha. In this show a desk worker routinely finds that the Enrollment Management counselors are using techniques which are not approved. He confronts them and tells them they need to do it right or it may affect their yearly bonus/compensation percentage.

YEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAH!

(There's no way to make my job badass.)

The closest my job has ever come to being portrayed as badass was that scene in Hot Fuzz where the butchers are lobbing knives and cleavers at the police.
