Okay. Huh. First, I had no idea this was from 2007. I thought it was new or something. Shows how behind the times I am. But this was just on SyFy (dumbest fucking name for a station EVER) and I DVRed it. Just finished watching it last night.
And I don't know why. After the first episode I was looking around for the exit. I mean, I like Zooey Deschanel and all, but she's not that great of an actress. She gets knocked over the edge of the tower and is hanging by her fingertips, yet her expression is still that same bewildered stare she always has.
Hell, had it not been for Neal McDonough I wouldn't have watched the whole thing. It would have been much better as a real movie by a better director. It needed to be done darker and have a different cast. McDonough and Alan Cumming were fine but the rest was terrible.
Anyone else watch this (either this weekend or a few years ago)?

Bought it on DVD. I thought the premise was excellent, although the execution left something to be desired. I only watched it once, but I might have another watch through it very soon, just because you brought it up.
And I want to hold Zooey Deschanel's hand.

Zooey can only play one part, the off-beat quirky love interest. When she tries to do something else it's like she has no emotion at all.
I didn't mind Tin Man, but I don't think I could watch it a second time.

^Pretty much this. Also there was a big "hub bub" about the "boob monkeys" I didn't see how this could be controversial personally, but there it is.

It was alright compare to the other fairy tale stories. We do have it on DVD, but I think 10th kingdom is much much much much better than Tin man and Alice (I still only saw first half I will have a better opinion once I see the 2nd half)

Kati loved it. But then she has a thing for Alan Cummings. I doubt I would have any trouble getting her to see Dare when it comes out.

Saw it when it came out. I didn't have a big problem with her. My main issue was that it really felt like the movie should have been condensed to a shorter format. It just started to drag on for me.

She really just slept through it, I was very disappointed in her performance. Overall though it was okay. Worth watching but nothing great.

I didn't think Zooey was that bad at all. But I did think it could have been about two hours shorter. At least.
