I've gotta say, this game is getting rather addicting. It's my first dungeon crawler RPG, and it's pretty fun! Also I like how its graphics requirements are low enough for my outdated graphics card.

Anyway, I've got a question for any of you who know -- how do the elements in this game work? As far as I see, it's just poison, fire, electricity, and ice. Is fire effective on ice, or vice-versa? How do the others go, in relation to each other if there is any?

Also, the Ent-like monsters... I assume they're weak against fire. I can't exactly test if this is actually true or not, nor if it is, why.

Monster resistances are most likely arbitrary... google a guide or something, or maybe read the manual.

I was just thinking to myself, "I bought it on Steam, I don't think it came with a manual..." But then I right-clicked on Torchlight, and saw "View player manual". Huh, how did I never notice that before with other games...

Yeah I bought Torchlight off of their website a while back when Penny Arcade was touting it. It was a $20 well spent, I thought. Really enjoyed it. May try playing one of the other classes after a while.

Oh, never mind, manual doesn't say anything about that. Enemies probably don't have inherent elements. Google didn't have anything to say on that, either.

Hey General, what class did you pick? I picked Destroyer. Not sure if I'll try Vanquisher or Alchemist next, I'd like them both.

The chick with the guns, I forget what she's called. Vanquisher, I guess? I loved the range. My pet going in to tie them up in melee and I just blast way at them.

On my next play through i'll probably go for the big melee dude (Destroyer?)

Yep, the archer/gunner is the Vanquisher, and the big melee warrior is the Destroyer. Then the other one's the Alchemist, what with the magic...

I think I'll try the Alchemist next. Haven't really used much in the way of magic yet, and I've used ranged weapons plenty to destroy pots (to avoid having them blow up on me sometimes) and weak spiders from a distance.

The alchemist is an interesting class to play. I started with Vanquisher myself, and I think the alchemist with summoning is a blast to play (though my computer doesn't play the game well even with a couple enemies on the screen!

Enjoy the game, but I'm one of the players who gets the crash c++ errors. Very frustrating.

Just hit lvl 24 with my alchemist with attack magic. Once you get the beam attack, it gets real easy. Just sweep it across the mobs a few times and most everything should be dead!
