A little story, which is very telling about my personality:
I took a "Laughter and Comedy" course for my last semester in my post-bac this past spring...where we would read awesome things like Importance of Being Earnest, Alice in Wonderland, and of course, Hitchiker's Guide to the Galaxy. Boy was I stoked for HGG...and then the day of class, all of the ultra-nerds came with their big super-duper additions and basically had a nerd masturbation fest about the book and about who was the biggest fan. It was sweaty, neckbeardy and miserable. It was so annoying.
I ditched the rest of those class periods dedicated to talking about the book.
It's people like that that held me back from watching things like Firefly.
That said, it's funny that there is a Towel Day.
