Me and my girl were arguing this last night. Lets hear your thoughts.

Edit: for Rocky, just the first movie, on its own

Depends, are we counting Rocky V?

Should probably adjust the poll, cause it seems you're putting the franchise up against Cinderella Man. Personally? I would have voted for Million Dollar Baby. :uhhuh:

The first Rocky was an amazing film. The second one was pretty good too. Too bad they never made any sequels after that...

You're joking right? 3 was "ok" but 4 was freakin great as well as the recent VI.

I didn't see Rocky Balboa (yet!) but 3, 4, and 5 sucked ass.

Five was terrible. Three had some serious moments [spoiler:9n2n0wbn]Death of Mickey was intense[/spoiler:9n2n0wbn] and it had Mr.T! Four on the other hand was EPIC on a grand scale and really showed the "heart" of Rocky was enough to overcome anything.

Five was just utter tripe.

:humph:
... but Mickey's death scene was pretty intense.

I stand by what one of my favorite sportswriters said about Rocky II. They should have made everything from "Win, Rocky, WIN!" to the end of the movie as a special feature on Rocky I.

III and IV are a load of fun, and goofy in their own ways.

I voted Cinderella Man, but that's only because I've never seen any of the Rocky movies.

Yeah I'm gonna say that Chaz's new avatar is definitely not doing him any favors.

^ I don't know why Brad Pit dying in a very fake way has to do with the poll... but I'll say this, I saw meet Joe Black in the theater. That scene just took me out of the film. I laughed instead of feeling bad for those involved.

To the movies at hand. Rocky was such a huge shake up of how sports movies were done. The in the ring feel was cool, and that several punches were real made the fights more intense. It was the first time I ever saw the hero of the sport film actually lose in the end.

Cinderella Man was just so, so. I don't think I watched it all the way through yet. I do remember when it came out, the fans stayed away in droves.
