Want to Playtest a game?

A good friend of mine, Don Synstelien, is designing a game for iPhone and Facebook. He needs playtesters.

Right now I don't know anything about it other than he contacted me to see if I was interested and if I knew others who might be. He states:

For now it's just an HTML shell. No graphics, very clunky interface. So it's really not for iPhone or Facebook at the moment... More like a bad browser based text game, but I know you have imagination.

He also says:

I do need more, but I need them all under NDA and they will need to give personal details, etc. But I'm glad to have them.

For the record, this guy has a pretty impressive resume and has been a friend of mine for 20 years or so. He was R&D and Creative Director for Fox Interactive Media.

Just note that he is a Nutty Professor type and is distracted by bright, shiny objects. So if he doesn't get back to you right away send him another note to jog his memory.

Nobody? Really? Nobody wants to playtest a new game? Don says that any who help will get an in-game reward when the game goes live.

I think the problems are a) this sounds kinda like work, and b) there's nothing about the actual game to arouse curiosity or interest.

I'm totally be down for this. I did a little bit of the playtesting on the OOTS boardgame expansion. Just don't know how much time I would have.

Well, this thread necro is because my friend's game is now being beta tested and he's asking if anyone else wants to join. I can tell you a bit more but I'm under an NDA. It looks and feels a bit like Mafia Wars but isn't.

Wow I am a total freaking schmuck. I remember we talked about this and I must have filed it away in one of the shifting mystery rooms of my mind because I am pretty sure I promptly forgot it right after we talked about it.
