So, we have two threads with our Steam, Xbox Live, and Playstation Network people's gamertags, names, etc.

We have two Steam groups, an old pvponline group with a bunch of people, that hasn't been used in a long time, and a locked Halforums group, that probably hasn't been used in a while.

We have a thread of where we talk about the games we've been playing recently, and some even mention playing them online with friends.

Then why don't we have a weekly gaming night?

We have a big enough community here to do so, I think we'd have enough people dedicated to it, and I'd run it out of a new thread, if liked. We tried it on the old forums, when Halo 3 came out, and it was a blast, so why not try and get it running again.

Whenever we tried to set up L4D2 games we would always run into problems. People would have conflicting schedules, hardware problems, or just lack of interest. I'm not saying it's a bad thing, but I don't think regular games night will work out. But hey, I would love for people to prove me wrong.

Well I'm thinking we have it on a regular schedule. Say every Saturday night at about 9 Eastern time, if you make it, you make it, if you don't, you don't.

How about setting up a TF2 server?
That could work, but it would need to be in the "centre" of people so not many get lag. With a weekly night, we could all have one set time to make, so we all could join together.

Can we do the same for PS3 owners? I wouldn't mind getting a buncha people together for, say, Little Big Planet. Or if some are willing to drop $10 to buy it, Turtles in Time.

I'd love a chance to play more with all of you. I really loved the nights we did manage to get a game going of L4D2, that was really awesome.

I enjoyed play L4D2 with you fellas and wouldn't mind playing TF2 if we got a server, but I don't think I can commit to another weekly thing.

At the top of the screen right under the "Forum List" tab, there's a "Calendar" link. You can use that to set up Events. I can make something for Event signups and reminders.

I don't have a PS3, but if someone would like, they could set it up for PS3 owners.

I already have 2 HF weekly game nights a week.

:smug:
Ahem, /points at the title/ Vidja games.

But if enough people are down for it we could start a weekly night. Your choice/s.

Not sure we'll be getting the first Little Big Planet since Little Big Planet 2 is coming along shortly, but we'd likely play that online with people when the time comes.

What kind of pings does everyone get to Telltale Games TF2 server? 8.3.5.110:27015
Although a server of our own would have benefits, this one sits empty most of the time and it's got a decent setup.

I really want to get a Halforums TF2 game going.

Pez, I would too like to get a Halforums TF2 game going, but it's upwards of around 10-13 dollars a month for a dedicated server with slots for 10 people, and a good sized one, 20 slots, is from 20-25 dollars a month. Unless people want to donate, then it's kinda bust to get a server going.

Which is why I suggested a server that's generally sitting empty, but is otherwise fine. Unless we really want admin control over the server, we can get by playing on someone else's, right?

You mean the "center" of the US don't you? :([/QUOTE]

No I don't. I'm not American, but dependent on where the majority of people are. Like how they find earthquakes, you'd use triangulation to find the best possible place for a server, and sorry, but one overseas is not the best place. I was thinking Seattle or New York, again dependent on how far people would be from it. We can't leave out our Asian brethren. But we could also chip out more money for a higher tickrate.

The best I can get us is 20 slots, 550 FPS, 100 tickrate, in either Seattle or New York, for either 41 dollars a month for private, or 54 dollars a month for public. If you guys really want it, and can donate money towards it, I will buy one.

I think finding a day and time that works around the globe may be a bigger obstacle than ping.

EDIT: I spend at least a little time playing all of the classes, but my skill at each varies. From best to worst:

Medic
Scout, Soldier
Heavy
Pyro, Sniper, Engie, Spy
Civilian
Spectator
Demoman

I really need to start playing that darn game, but riiiight around when I graduated college, my team/online shooter skills began to drop precipitously, for some reason. :p
