I know next to nothing about these things, the settings, the brands to look for, the specs etc.

Anyone here give me a small tutorial on what's gonna be my best quality for under $50?

Ex: How would this one rate:

Logitechs are ok, but their tech support is a bitch. Your only choices are pretty much Logitech and Microsoft.

Yeah Logitechs are the best way to to. I have a Trust webcam and while I have not experienced any problems with it, I've heard that pretty much any brand is inferior to Logitech from independend computer salesman/technicians. Take that as you will.

For under 50 bucks, though, this one is probably a better bet: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Logitech+-+C600+Webcam/9423448.p?id=1218102963407&skuId=9423448

I will buy your webcam for you.

Provided I get a free show, of course.

Would recommend getting one that supports UVC (most do). Beyond that, have no personal experience.
