Yeah, good thing Florida State railroaded Bobby Bowden out before his time. Wouldn't want him dragging the program down into historic losses!
First of all fuck Rich Rod, U of M sucked dick against Notre Dame 3 missed field goals is a joke, and a lack luster secondary as usual, the reason they won that game and maybe even the first? They have a genuine Heisman candidate that is frequently carrying them, watch the end of the game when he was stopped being able to run and shit started hitting the fan. Rich Rod still deserves to go the U of M team is far from what their potential is.
Now from your rambling, incoherent mess of a post I can only assume you're a blatant troll. Luckily for you I'm generous and will explain things for you, as a patient teacher does to an unruly child. Yes correct, outside of Denard's performance that was not a good game for Michigan. Excluding DENARDDENARDDENARD!!!~!111, what I came away from the game thinking was "Shit". The defense still blows. This game was supposed to be a benchmark test of the defense, how well it could hold up under a good passing game. And when Crist was in there, the answer was "Not very well". Our secondary is still clueless and outclassed. I'm liking the linebackers more and more - they're showing good football IQ - but they're still prone to bad tackling. With Crist only playing half a game, I don't know if it was enough to show the defense can be servicable and so I'm still scared as hell about them.
Second, we need a kicker. Badly. Send us your former rugby players, soccer players, anyone. We need a kicker.
And last, we need an actual running back. We need someone to be the Steve Slaton to Denard's Pat White, so he doesn't have to throw out 250-yard rushing performances just to carry us to a one score win. And of course this being college football, there are no free agents to be signed or trades to be made. So we're left with either Denard doing everything all the time or Smith or Shaw stepping up. But those two showed all of nothing against Notre Dame (except Shaw's pass-catching ability, which doesn't matter) so it does not bode well for Denard.
So, while an incredibly good day for Michigan, the questions we thought we'd see answered, weren't. And we'll have to wait three weeks to do so, as UMass and Bowling Green aren't litmus tests. They're schedule padding. What's even more nerve-wracking is I'm going to be in Bloomington for that Big 10 season opener against Indiana, which is now where we'll see those questions answered. Hoo boy.
But! Guess what that doesn't mean? That RichRod is some incompetent utter failure of a coach. First, you're assuming that Michigan played in a vaccuum. You realize there was another team on the field? That they and their coach make (and made) mistakes too? The majority of that game, Michigan controlled what ND was able to throw at them. There were breaks in the dam, of course, but Michigan deserved that win no matter what. It was a close one-score game because of Michigan mistakes, sure, but you can't lay that on RichRod. He's not the one who goes out there to kick the field goal. He's not the one running the route, then dropping the pass. Throughout that game he had them, for the most part, in the correct position to win that game. The players needed to execute better, but ultimately
they still earned the win. As for long-term, the offense is exactly where we thought it'd be. It's dynamic, it'll be putting up points, and once the RB issue is resolved it's going to be one of the hardest to stop in the country. This is opposed to the generic, predictable, and easily stopped run-run-pass of Dinosaur Carr. The defense is a major concern (which, for you forgetful young folk out there, has always been a concern considering that under Jim "PREVENT PREVENT oops gave up the winning score" Hermann and Ron "Huh?" English Michigan always had defensive issues despite NFL talent) but if it shows in three weeks against Indiana that it can hold up, Michigan will be fine. You'll get your precious 9-10 wins back next year, you'll get your precious arrogance that everyone hates us for back, and the Freep can shut the hell up.
