Antimatter atoms have been trapped by scientists. To be honest I don't know that much about antimatter other than what Hollywood has spit out. I hate to think it would be used to create some type of weapon. What would some of the positives that could come out of this?

Positives are that these breakthroughs could help us further our understanding of what happened at the beginning of the universe. The time, money, and energy required to create antimatter particles renders it unfeasible for weaponization at this time so I wouldn't go worrying about that right now.
