When WORLDS COLLIDE

Um, I just realized something...

Now that fadecomic.com links here, there's a potential for "WORLDS COLLIDING, JERRY--WORLDS COLLIDING!". Some of my students know about my comic. Grad students especially. That means that if they follow the forum link, they'll end up here, in my Sanctum Sanctorum. My Fortress of Solitude, if you will.

Um, if any of you are here (esp. you, Tinley) -- this is Vegas, see? You know, what happens here, stays here. Any strong opinions I may or may not express don't really need to make it back to the university.

Yeah...this is why I'll never link this place up to anything remotely professional.

Oh noes! Professors are people, too! And may have views that differ from those their work wants them to have while on duty!

Hopefully they are mature enough to understand that private/professional personae are usually different.

When they find out your stance on the Hulk VS Superman: WHO WINS??? it is OVER for your career.

No, that would be JCM's career over, not Fade's.

Hate to break this to ya, Sparky, but this is a public forum. Anything you say can and will be used against you whenever the opposite party can use it against you. The only way to avoid it is to never, ever, post anything online. It all follows you, forever. We're well past that now. :(

(hell, there's even remnants of a BBS I ran over 20 years ago still floating out in the ether)

There's a difference between Fade posting in a public forum - that could be anyone - and Jack now being associated with the moniker. For example, for anyone to hold anything against you that "DarkAudit" said they'd first have to know you were DA and THEN search for bad stuff. In Fade's case he's going to have people here who know who he is before they read anything. Different animal altogether.

Will someone shut this guy up? He's giving away our secrets!!

I'm okay with posting on the forum, but this is my quasi-private playground, and now there's a direct path for them to find me here. I'm not stupid--I have no expectation of privacy. It's just that now there's a giant blinking arrow sign.

Calling me "Sparky" just totally gives you that creepy uncle vibe. Makes me feel like you want me to sit on your lap while you tell me a story, even when I'm like 30.

Good idea!!! How about achromatize, blanch, bleach, blench, clear, decolorize, dim, disappear, discolor, dissolve, dull, etiolate, evanish, evaporate, grow dim, lose brightness, lose luster, muddy, neutralize, pale, http://thesaurus.reference.com/browse/tarnishtarnish, tone down, vanish, or wash ou?

Blaze may not have been the best singer, but he was still okay!

I was thinking of the George Pal movie.

Or the Rocky Horror Picture Show opening theme which references said film:

Wouldn't a solution be not to link here?

Well, of course. It was more like I just realized what I did.

Destroy links, poll students, eliminate those who know too much.

Eh, I wouldn't worry to much about it. Grad students should be able to distinguish between professional and personal. Don't pull an Icarus and you will be safe ;)

Yeah, I've never really cared for Iron Maiden.

What?

What's with the pitch forks?

Or you can just give your class's sign-up sheet to Shego.

The boys will disappear and will never be heard of again. The girls will be heard - repeatedly, screaming and begging at first... and then screaming and begging again.

Soliloquy

I think this calls for some of us to troll through the archives and find any embarrassing information on Fade that we can.
