I'm going to wait until there's ~5 posts/votes before I tell my pick. Chose which you think is better (objective) or better (subjective) and please explain below.

Whatever Happened to the Man of Tomorrow? is "the last Superman story told". Ending the Pre-crisis continuity, rumor has it that upon hearing the news of the plans for Superman following Crisis on Infinite Earths a bushy bearded Alan Moore stormed into a terrified Julie Schwartz's office demanding to be the one to have the opportunity to write the "end."

For the Man Who Has Everything doesn't have such a story attached to it. Instead it's a really great, solid pre-crisis Superman story. It does however have the distinction of having been adapted into a Justice League Unlimited episode of the same name.

Tough call because I love both of them. If I had to choose, I think I'd go with Whatever Happened. It's a more interesting backstory, with Alan Moore threatening Schwartz, not to mention that it was meant to be a big, final farewell to all things Silver Age. Of course, that farewell has lost its meaning when the vast majority of the things they said goodbye to were all brought back.

Crap, I actually hit the wrong one. I meant to choose What ever happened to the man of tomorrow?

I really liked that story. It was a great elseworlds type of story. Bonus for good use of Mr. Mxyzpitilik.

Because it finally enabled you to cure your insomnia?

I chose For the Man Who Has Everything, personal preference. It's a great Superman story that's not trying to be "the" Superman story.
