WORST #1 SONG IN ALL POP HISTORY.
Really? Are you sure I couldn't come up with at least ten other #1 pop hits that you feel are worse? Come on, Brittany spears just turned thirty. Nkotb had several pretty awful hits. There's a few decades of number one pop hits we could compare...

Yes, really, if we're looking at pop songs. It's definitely not the best song of all time, but as far as best pop song, it would be at least in the top 5.

Just think, this is the band that brought you White Rabbit.

Blender magazine's "50 Most Awesomely Bad Songs Ever"

The defunct magazine Blender's ranking of the song as the worst song ever was in conjunction with a VH1 Special of The 50 Most Awesomely Bad Songs...Ever.[7] In order to qualify for the distinction, the songs on the list had to be a popular hit at some point, thus disqualifying many songs that would by consensus be considered much worse. Blender editor Craig Marks said of the song, "It purports to be anti-commercial but reeks of '80s corporate-rock commercialism. It's a real reflection of what practically killed rock music in the '80s."[8]

N

Namesake

There can't be many bands like Jefferson Airplane/Jefferson Starship/ Starship that have undergone such a radical stylistic change in their career. At least not while surviving as an artist.
