So, I did something stupid at work today. Basically, I let something inconsequential get to me, lost my temper, and ended up making a lot of noise, including an audible curse. Bad enough, but it also happened when my coworker was working with a patient. This lead to a confrontation, wherein she stated that if it happened again, we couldn't work together (implied in this, whether she knew it or not, was that it basically meant my job, as she is far more important than I am). I have no problem with that. This was all my fault, I already apologized for my actions, and I plan to offer a fuller apology next week.
Now, for my question: During our confrontation, she stated that "we didn't have to like each other, but we have to be able to work together." Now, I have long felt that she has disliked me, but I generally chalked it up to a mild case of paranoia along with her slightly odd vocal inflection. Now, however, I'm wondering if there's something to this. I should perhaps note that I'm not too crazy about her, although not to the point of dislike, and perhaps she has picked up on this. So now, I'm wondering if I should bring this up to try to clear the air, or if I should just resign myself to the Cold War I'll be facing whenever I go in to work. Thoughts?
