Wow authentication question

I was thinking of playing WoW again, but I cannot seem to log into my Blizzard account. I switched phones, and never once thought about the authenticator app. The codes coming from it no longer seem to work. I cannot file a help request because guess what? I need the authentication code to do it. Anybody know how to fix this problem?

Call the blizzard customer support number and have them remove the authenticator. They'll ask for the cd-key to any of the games on your blizzard account to verify your identity. I did the exact same thing, formatting a phone without first removing the authenticator.

Overall it took about 10 minutes.

Wow, I don't think I have the CD key anymore. I've moved several times since I bought the game originally.

If you don't have the original CD key, or if you used a trial and never got one, you'll want to have a scanned copy of your DL ready to email to them. You may have to wait on hold an hour or two, so be prepared for that. If you don't want to wait you can open a ticket online. Those seem to take a low priority though, and it might take a couple days.

Ah I found an email buried in a dusty corner of gmail with an "Account Authentication Key" in it. Think that'll work?

Couldn't hurt. Just call them and find out what they need. I found doing it over the phone to be a much faster process than filing an online ticket. They were pretty nice, seems this is a common occurance.

I have my authenticator on my iPad. I'm really glad that I tried to log onto SC2 before wiping my old one to be sold, or I would have had to do what you're doing now.

They were pretty fast with the scanned DL when this happened to me a year ago or so. They literally cleared me in less than 15 minutes. I may have just gotten lucky in the queue, though.

DO NOT EMAIL.

Took a week of hearing nothing before I called and got it sorted out within ten minutes.

I was thinking of putting d3 on my computer for my kids to play. I emailed them to take off my old authenticator. I had the serial for it and sent them my dl. I tried to log back in the other day. My account is now blocked due to suspicious activity. So I decided to not buy another blizzard game

Have you asked why? It could be that as soon as the authenticator was removed your account was stolen. It happens a lot.

I'm not worried about it really

When you add an authenticator to your account, you're supposed to be given a recovery key that lets you back in even if you lose everything else. So remember to copy that down someplace or else you may lose access to all your Blizzard stuff ForEEEEverrrr.
