I'm sorry for making a new, separate thread for this rather than posting it in one of the Kickstarter threads. It's just really disconcerting to see a project that I've been following off and on for years to finally have a venue to get support, only to see it potentially fail.
See, for years, wrestling fans have been saying that WWF No Mercy for the N64 was the best wrestling game ever. Its engine was fantastic and honestly, it's hard to argue with that. Today's wrestling games are good, to be sure, but for whatever reason, that No Mercy engine captured wrestling's feel incredibly well.
PWX is a new engine that's greatly inspired by No Mercy. It's made by a fan, for the fans. And what I'm most looking forward to is the potential community creations, like a wrestling version of Little Big Planet.
With only 10 days left, the game has only raised 19% of its goal. Which, after following the project for years, is really depressing. I've slapped down $50 for because the $50 goal will let backers get an early copy of the create-a-wrestler feature and allow their wrestler to be put in the game as a full member of the roster. CAW's have always been my favourite part of any wrestling game, so for that alone, I'm down.
