I just can't imagine the person that could do this. This would be like taking my oldest (9 years old) and abusing him until he turns 14.
There really isn't a punishment suitable for the defendants. At best we can hope they are prevented from doing this again, but there is no punishment sufficient to equal that of what they did to this child.
Chances are good, however, that they were already similarly punished as children, and maybe they're just "paying it forward."
Sad all around. I hope this kid gets the help he's going to need throughout his life.

It's weird that there were six other kids there but none of them showed signs of abuse.
I'll be interested in seeing what the mother and "friend" have to say for themselves in this situation.
