They were all jokes. She was famous and that was part of her schtick on Hollywood Squares & talk shows. Reddit is just too young to know who she is.

I think Reddit is a microcosm of the whole. I think it's a minority that are misogynistic and racist, but online they tend to squeal the loudest because the anonymity makes their neckbeards feel safe. And once they see other neckbeards feel safe they tend to roam in packs.
