The reason I've been gone for a bit: I went to my first Society for Creative Anachronism event last weekend - Castle Wars X, in Macon, GA. I had an absolute blast there, and not just because there was an open bar Saturday night (Damn you, Mead-Goat! *glug glug glug*

The cameraderie and friendliness from everyone there, the desire to help the newbie settle in - I'm officially hooked, and I can't wait for my next one.
