This. Several minutes of automatic fire would have only made things worse, as it would draw zombies from all around the prison and the surrounding area. Really, what I was shouting about was that they apparently had a left a cart full of guns and ammo by the fence, unguarded and completely exposed to the elements. That sounds like a great way to be left defenseless or to arm someone trying to break in.

Did anyone else think the episode was going to end horribly badly, with The Governor snapping and killing everyone?
I still think terrible things are in store for his newfound 'family.' The Governor is the best villain the series has currently, and any attempt to humanize him is likely only to make his relapse into monsterhood all the more tragic and terrifying.
Please note: I've never read the comics.
That's okay. The show's Governor is a VERY different kind of character in a lot of ways. The comic Governor was more Grade A evil in a more cliche sense. He was a monster and you couldn't understand why people followed him (at least, I didn't). This Governor is charming, smooth, a politician in a lot of ways.
Some comic to show comparisons make think the show is Kirkman doing revisions.
I'm enjoying these Governor episodes, but from the preview for the mid-season finale ...
I'm kind of annoyed it's just coming down to the confrontation they wussed out on from the season 3 finale. Hopefully it's not just another fake-out and stuff develops in the second half of the season.

I wouldn't say minor character changes. For the most part, yes, but Carl isn't the same as the comics - mostly due to the actor aging faster than the comics. Andrea we've discussed a lot before, which still bothers me. Herschel isn't the same character as the comics. The Governor certainly isn't the same as the comics. In the broadest of strokes, yes, but he's a much better developed character than the 2-dimensional evil comics Governor. The story beats are generally the same from the comic, but it's developed in such ways that the surprises are still surprises.
But enough about the comics because Jay'll go blind rolling his eyes in disgust if we keep talking about it. And probably post some sarcastic picture caption in response that really says nothing.
As for the episode tonight? It was good. The big death din't surprise me mostly because it's a mid-season finale. At this point, shocks and heartbreakers are to be expected. Shame it had to happen to one of my favourite characters, but I'm honestly surprised they lasted this long.

During the Talking Dead they had a little memorium of characters killed this episode. Baby Judith was not listed among them. I have a feeling they just wanted to end on one final cliffhanger and that we will learn one of the girls, maybe injured to explain the blood, ran off with Judith to safety.
Kirkman pretty much clarified that specific situation but maybe not. The blood was pretty obvious though.
Uhhh did you miss the part where everyone in the Governor's camp got shot an d killed by those crazy flying bullets? Couple more than 1 or 2.
I don't know if I should spoil this, since it's a theory and not anything confirmed in the show, but I will anyway.
I think the little blonde girl might be a developing psychopath. I think she was the one feeding the rats to the zombies at the fence, and the splayed and dissected rat that was discovered by Tyreese was also her handywork. We've already seen her playing in blood, and I wouldn't put it past her to abandon a baby just to get to run off and shoot people.
Also, how the hell does a kid that presumably has never shot a gun before headshot someone with a single bullet from that distance?

If you've read the comics I want to say she's going to be the psychopathic replacement for that one twin brother that does a certain something during this exodus.

The only person who didn't die who probably should have for how much of a target he was was Tyrese for running around with about knee-high cover.

I'm glad Michonne finally stuck him, but I was really hoping he'd be eaten by walkers at the end. He liked doing that to people so much.
What are you talking about? Tyrese totally fit behind those skinny poles he was hiding behind.
I hope we get to sees some traveling. Each time they're on the road, the show skips ahead. Let's have some travel before they find another place to settle down.
