The Undisputed Unified Wrestling Thread

Dos Caras is also known today as Mexico's greatest export, Alberto Del Rio.

He also says that he was instructed to lose the match after the headkick and that it was fixed as hell.

Unfortunately a common story out of Pride.

I hope that Daniel Bryan isn't hobbled with a Kane midcard feud. That's some Chris Benoit shit right there.

Also, I'm glad that Cesaro dropped the Real Americans theme, but...you know, they probably should have given him something other than silence. And, I love Paul Heyman. He's...like, the best. But what is he doing with Cesaro? That pair-up makes no sense other than to keep Heyman on TV while Brock is gone for a while.

Cesaro gets the IC belt, holds it until about the time Brock comes back, and Cesaro drops the belt, with Heyman dropping Cesaro.

The ol' Curtis Axel treatment.

That would be tragic, but I doubt it's the same. Axel was never over.

They should just go back to his old Miracle theme. It's about the most Swiss thing ever in that it switches between Swiss German and French.

I still have to check out Raw this week, but it will have to wait because Mick Foley is going to be at our local comedy club tonight, right here in Raleigh NC, and I got tickets. I guess you could say I'm going to...have a nice day. :csi:

I'm so freaking excited. Mick Foley was my hands down favorite wrestler growing up, both the reason I wanted to become a wrestler and decided against it. I always wanted to see him live, and was sad I never got the chance.

I really like Paige but the Paige Turner looks shitty. Her submission finisher, which I do not know the name of, on the other hand is fucking awesome looking. Looking it up, it's called a scorpion crosslock.

It's great!

In an age of shitty looking submissions (John Cena, looking at you), it's nice to see one that actually looks uncomfortable.

So Mick Foley's Hardcore Legend show is a lot of fun. If he comes by your area I highly recommend going to see him. Matt Hardy and Shane Helms were in attendance, and so Mick Foley brought them on stage with him towards the end, when he did a Q&A. Best of all aside from getting my picture with Mick, was finally getting a Cactus Jack shirt.

Also can we talk about how great it is that we're having a tournament to determine the new #1 contender for the Intercontinental Championship? Wrestling Tournaments are probably my second favorite angle in wrestling ( 1. Royal Rumble, 2. Tournaments, 3. Kurt), and I'm glad that they're using one to put focus back on the Intercontinental Title. That strap has been neglected more than the US Championship, and only then because Ambrose just wears it and never competes with it. Since I'll probably never see King of the Ring again, at least we've got this.

Man, D-Bry getting the Benoit treatment to a T.

Just getting around to watching the show now (4 am) and man, I still, just...don't like Cesaro's entrance. It's bad enough Paul Heyman (who is awesome) still talks mostly about Brock. Is Cesaro supposed to be a heel?

Did not like the forklift spot. Too much time for too little pay off.

Loved the cage match, women's and minis.

Poor Big E, guy needs Mic skills or a manager.

Up to the cage match now. Am I the only one that hates the whole ref opening the door for you shit?

The crowd fucking hates this match. It's sucking any enjoyment out of it.[DOUBLEPOST=1399293623,1399293405][/DOUBLEPOST]Jesus, the Rowan piggy backing Cena back into the cage bit....this is a bad comedy match now.[DOUBLEPOST=1399293805][/DOUBLEPOST]This has made the whole Wyatt family look like ineffectual goobers.[DOUBLEPOST=1399294025][/DOUBLEPOST]OHHHHHHH, the ending....THIS GOT WORSE![DOUBLEPOST=1399294060][/DOUBLEPOST]TERRIBLE!!![DOUBLEPOST=1399294496][/DOUBLEPOST]Cole just called Tamina the son of Jimmy Supafly Snuka.

GOOD JOB COLE!

AHH, I just love Paige's submission finisher. It looks so great.[DOUBLEPOST=1399295131,1399295020][/DOUBLEPOST]

Little Johnny's (Wyatt?) life goalposts seemed to have moved.

This is some TNA/Ultimate Warrior in the mirror/Randy Orton hallucinating level terrible shit.

I'm glad I watched Extreme Rules, and I'm very glad that I have the Network and didn't need to pay $50 to watch it. The show was about what I expected from a PPV that's not one of the big 4.[DOUBLEPOST=1399298760,1399298304][/DOUBLEPOST]
It won't happen. It'll never happen as long as he's still their top merchandise seller and doing all the charities. People need to realize that.
This ^

Also people insisting he needs to turn heel are being to narrow minded (and wanting to validate their own feelings on Cena). He's already a heel to everyone that want's to see him "turn heel" so I'm not sure what him suddenly cheating would do other than disappoint a lot of kids who buy his stuff.

Really he just needs to adjust the character to become more dynamic, or maybe in line with reality. He's pretty much Superman, so maybe stop running the overcome the impossible odds story line again and again. Have him be more cocky. He's been neigh unstoppable for years, older fans don't buy that he's going to lose so why should he buy it?

We get another NXT special coming up soon! :minionhappy:

Also anyone here Chikara fans? I just ordered the iPPV they're having on May 25th and was wondering if anyone else was going to watch it. If you're not familiar with Chikara they're a Lucha style promotion that's basically a living wrestling comic book. Last year they had a storyline where the company was bought out by a corporation and promptly shut down (the company went dark last June). Earlier this year it was uncovered that it was a ploy by all their villains to destroy the promotion. So now Chikara is fighting back.

Some of its closing actually had some reality to it. Owner Mike Quackenbush had divorced recently. Unfortunately, his wife was also a co-owner of the fed. So I imagine it took them this long to things settled in terms of rights.

I'm watching the iPPV now. A large and very enthusiastic crowd, and good wrestling. Especially by the Indy standards. 3 matches in, only one superkick and no finisher-2 count exchanges.

NXT Takeover is tomorrow and Payback is Sunday. Guess which one I'm more excited for?

Both have pretty lousy cards, but I'm looking forward to seeing Sami Zayn and Tyler Breeze wrestle each other, and the NXT crowd should be great as usual. Payback will have Cesaro vs. Shemus which could be match of the night depending on which Shemus shows up.
