[TV] Orphan Black, season 2!

Premieres next week! So there is still lots of time for those of you who missed the first season to catch up on this fantastic show!

I was describing it to a friend the other day, as being so good I not only record it, I watch it live during it's original broadcast.

And even watch the commercials to not miss anything.

"YOU EVEN WATCH THE COMMERCIALS?!" he said

"Yes and it airs against Hockey Night in Canada. During the playoffs."

His reaction;

Can't wait! I loved Season 1 and thought it was great to have it back-to-back with Doctor Who. I'm still nervous for Kira, and I'm curious what's going to happen with Allison since
it turns out she was right about her husband but doesn't know it yet.
Well, I'm curious about all the clones, but still. :)

Damn good season premiere. I get the feeling this season will be more action packed now that we have the origin stuff out of the way.

Moments with Alison are starting to make her my favorite clone due to sheer insanity.
"I made the card myself!"

I continue to be amazed at how they work ina crazy setting each week.

S2e1 homosexual man in assless chaps in suburban housewifes kitchen at 3am

S2e2 man with arm stuck up cows vagina

And they are just perfect!

I am all caught up finally and truly loving this show. Though it's pretty obvious that it wouldn't be as great without the extremely talented Ms Maslany. My favorite is when she is playing a clone masquerading as one of the other clones. Great series and can't wait for the next ep.

Fun fact: I clicked this thread thinking it read Orange Is the New Black season 2, and was surprised that the new season was out already, and that it had taken a really, really weird turn

I've never watched this show and until this thread I was never interested. The previews all play up the lesbian stuff and it really cooled any interest my wife and I had about it. It just seemed gratuitous. If it turns out that this has very little to do with the show - as your posts make it seem - then they did a disservice with their trailers.

The only significant impact lesbian behaviour adds to the show is so far the question of if sexuality is genetic how are the clones different sexually.

Its a show for people tired of the slow pace of GoT and the low body count of Walking Dead.

I didn't realize they made such a big deal about Cosima's relationship. I only remember seeing it briefly mentioned in one commercial.

As for Saturday's episode
Nice that we finally find out who Kira's father is. And I'm guessing by the previews that Sarah walks away from that crash. (Way to kill that cliff-hanger, preview editor.) And I never thought I'd feel sorry for Helena, but now that she's Warren Jeffs' hostage, I hope someone is going to get her out. Or she at least finds a way out of the drug-induced haze they've got her in.

You know the red wedding was meh for those that paid attention. The purple wedding was fun.

But the white wedding on Saturday turned the dial up past 11.

It was a 3 minute scene that made all of Big Love look tame.

It seems to me that great acting, writing anddidirecting are all being shown.

HOLY SHIT!!!!

edit:

I am now calm and collected. And I must say that was a very rare instance of instilling feelings of actual fear in me. Last weeks ending was surprising and felt shocking at the time, this week was just plain terrifying.

You're tied up in a shower stall being tortured only to find your torturer killed by your psychotic psychopathic clone sister who you thought you had killed because you shot her in the chest at point blank range only a few weeks ago, and she's wearing a wedding dress that is covered in blood.

Then she hugs you.

Fuck Game of Thrones and their abundant and redundant unnecessary heterosexual sex scenes.

Orphan Black has completely necessary and over the top homosexual sex scenes!

And the lips, that's some straight out of Norse mythology nightmare shit right there.

I saw someone compare Chloe's lips to Ryan Reynold's Deadpool and chuckled.

Not as freaky as last week's ending, but ... dammit, Paul!

So last nights episode. Lacked the expected OH MY GOD! moment but have tons of revelations, but why do I feel that now I have these answers I am filled with nothing but new questions.

Pork rind?

When Helena was getting sprung from jail, I figured "oh boy, Sarah is pissed right now", but then I saw Chloe and was like, "Oh, f***, not her/them!"
Also, I can't believe Sarah just left her! She KNOWS Helena's important, that she's going to keep turning up like a bad penny, and she's not above being a sniper to get revenge. That's a girl you keep a close eye on.

But you would think she wouldn't leave such a huge loose end. Besides, now that they've got The Swan Man, it's time to get the band back together!: Punky Clone, Drunky Clone, Brainy Clone and ...well, Crazy Clone.

Oh, and Rachel, I guess. Bitchy Clone.

I saw that ending, and realized Donnie may not be with us much longer, because he is too stupid to survive on his own.

Oh Donnie....

That was simultaneously the most telegraphed death scene and the most WOW did not see that coming moment I have seen on TV in a while.

Wow. That was a really thought provoking episode. I like Tony, and I'm of the mind that a transgender clone was not introduced for the purpose of just having one, there is more there to discover. Looks like Donnie will be around for a while longer yet, the family that kills together stays together.

And the great big OH MY GOD moment was just a simple spoken sentence this week. And what a revelation it was and it sent a whole new series of thoughts into my head.

And Rachels reaction....was that a flashback or flashforward, but regardless it was powerful.

Clone count!
Cop clone - dead
German clone - dead
Crazy clone - getting babies
Punky clone - single mom badasss
Drunky clone - finally free
Brainy clone - perhaps only a few episodes left
Guy clone - kissing Felix!

The kissing Felix thing kinda made me squirm, only because, "Ahhh! You're kissing your sister (sort of)!!"

First for Donnie and his emergency from the ashes like a phoenix;

Have a shitty day!

Now how the heck is the forced artificial inseminated of a man in stirrups not the OH MY GOD moment!

Because that moment was OH MY GOD!!!!!

Goddamnit I did it again.

This thread isn't about a female prison at all!

*grumbles that he will have to actually read thread titles instead of just glance*

Helena's solution to the Clone Fundies? ...Yep, that seems about right.

Donnie and Alison had me laughing pretty hard this week. Way to start (awkwardly) redeeming yourself, Donnie.

The only thing I'm worried about is next week is the season finale and Kira's kidnapped AGAIN. Can we not end both seasons like that? Orphan Black does not need their own [BtVS] Dawn.
