That's interesting. I felt some of the fight scenes were a bit messy too and took it as the fault of the editing (like Batman Begins), but it'd be something if they had filmed it for 3D assuming certain stuff would pop or sink, and thus would be easier for the eyes to discern.

Crap, now I'm curious about seeing it in 3D.

Lastly, it was the first time I saw it, so my recollection may be rose-colored. In other words, don't bank on my statements - if you generally like 3D (like me), I know you'll enjoy it in 3D at least slightly better than 2D (the scene with Thanos seems "bigger" with more impact in 3D, for instance). But if most 3D makes you go "meh" compared to 2D, then I don't think you'll have a much different reaction to this one in 3D.

That being said, if I see it again (and I really want to) I'll go for 3D again. Probably the cheaper RealD rather than iMax, though.

Oh, well in that case, never mind. Post production would mean they couldn't have planned that, and I generally dislike 3D. In every occasion except Avatar, it's felt like a waste of money, possibly due to an issue in my right eye, but also possibly because they really put a big effort into Avatar's 3D. Could be a little of both.

This is the only other movie I've seen in 3D besides Avatar. Post-production or not, I thought it was pretty cool. The opening scenes look awesome and pretty much every space shot was cool as hell.

I think youguys are overestimating marvel's success in China and massively underestimating transformers 4' s success in China.

Cap 2's Chinese gross was only about 44.5% of its domestic gross ($115 mil compared to 259 mil)Thor 2's was only about 26% ($55.34 mil, 206.36 mil)and even the avengers was only 14% (84.1 mil 623.35 mil).

On the other hand Transformers 4 actually made MORE money in China than it did in North America ($301 mil $243 mil)

With a 600 million dollar gap and only a few international markets left, Guardians' Chinese take would need to be more than double it's current North American take to overtake Transformers 4 worldwide. A far more likely case is 30-40% of its North American gross, which is still far better than anyone would have predicted at the start of the summer and is certainly well earned. But Transformers deliberately appealed to the Chinese market, with cameos by Chinese stars and scenes set in China and showing the Chinese military in a favourable light.

So, I've been thinking about the upcoming Thor movie. The next logical step is to have something involving the Norn Stones. I wonder if they will condense them into one of the Infinity Gauntlets.

My guess is something to do with the Gauntlet being in Asgard, if I remember right it's in the same vault they kept the Tesseract and could be seen in the first movie.

Edit: Really though, I'm just hoping for more Thanos. Brolin's apparently super excited about getting the role and I can't wait to see more of him.

And Loki, who was working for Thanos in the Avengers, now sits on the throne of Asgard....

In trying to describe Bleach to my friend today, we discovered that Guardians of the Galaxy is almost a Shonen Jump series....

A young, spirited protagonist manages to save the day by bringing together his misfit friends, and persevering with the power given to him by his nearly absent parents, despite being a blithering idiot who doesn't seem to know much about strategy or tact, but somehow manages to be brilliant at just the right moment because he really understands the power of friendship.

All that's missing is a whole bunch of training.

I just noticed that I mistyped. I meant that maybe the Norn Stones will be condensed into one of the final Infinity Gems.

OR- implied training and then a time skip! Let the fans/animators interpret how it went down.

Sin city was terrible so I'm gonna watch Guardians for, what is it now, the forth time to remind myself that at least one movie I was looking forward to this year didn't let me down.

People actually thought A Dame To Kill For was going to be good? I thought we had already collectively given up on Frank Miller ever producing anything worthwhile again.

I went in it for the stylized scenes and even those were disappointing. I didn't have any expectations on story. Was hoping that visually it'd be enough to be enjoyable but it fell short of even that.
