[NFL] 2014 NFL Season

Also, the Ravens should get absolutely zero credit. They didn't cut him for knocking his wife unconscious. Not at all. If that was the reason, he would have been fired on February 16th. He was fired because the PR from that video would be too vicious.

That and they kept a murderer on the roster because he was a good player.

To be fair, they did not have video evidence showing Ray Lewis clearly stabbing someone until they died. Nor anything even close to that, proof-wise. Also even the wildest rumors only really agree on that Ray Lewis knew who killed them and wouldn't tell the cops. I don't think there was any semi-serious flying around rumors that Ray actually did the murdering.

I think the Ravens are the scummiest franchise in the NFL by a long margin, though, even with all that above.

The whole thing about Ray is, he held the guy up while someone else stabbed him. That's from one of the guys involved. But his testimony wasn't able to be upheld due to the fact that he was the stabber. Also, Ray's white outfit from that night mysteriously disappeared and the murder weapon was wiped clean of all prints or DNA. Oh, and then there's the fact that the victim's blood was found in Ray's car. Ray got out of it by rolling on his friends and selling them out, although they were both acquitted for lack of evidence.

So yeah, he's a quality individual. Doesn't take a video camera to say 1+1=2.

Lack of evidence due in part to a number of witnesses being intimidated and recanting.

Maybe the NFL and the teams, which have let every type of creep and criminal stay in the game, will finally pull their collective heads out of their asses and toss these violent offenders out.

There's been a dust-up on my Facebook today because one of my friends defended Rice, saying this was "single boneheaded, drunken elevator ride", and because he's "been a good guy" with charity work and anti-bullying, not to mention the woman in question marrying him, that people are making too big a deal about this. Said friend is also a die-hard Rutgers alum.

Needless to say, myself and a slew of people are ripping him a new one for statement.

bye bye, Ray Ray.

Ray Lewis should be in prison, but instead gets a statue. What a country!

I haven't seen anything about that at all. Let me do some checking....

Apparently Adam Schefter is reporting that Terry Pegula is buying, uhm.. the Buffalo Bills.

Unfortunately, Joe Paterno died before he could be sent to prison, but we did tear down his statue! :)
You didn't do shit. You did what you always do and sit on your ass in front of a computer screen, and got offended. Way to cross post follow me around, by the way. Really cute.

I'd write up a nice long response to your idiocy, but it's just not worth it. It's clear (par the course for you) that you never read the Freeh report, you only read media headlines, and have no interest in the case other than wanting to crucify Joe Paterno. Why? Because that's what piece of shit internet warriors like you do. You don't contribute to anything; you're utterly useless.

If you want to take the word of an incompetent FBI director who was more concerned with covering up Tom Corbett's involvement in the Sandusky case, and who's report was full of speculated conclusions, be my guest. I find it hilariously hypocritical and ironic that the new NCAA sexual violence SOP released in August is almost word for word how Paterno handled himself during that whole fiasco. Paterno had more character and did more for PSU and PA overall than you can ever hope to accomplish, and he was certainly a better person and role model than Ray Lewis.

Question. Why do you hang around Halforums? Virtually no one wants you around. Your input towards any sort of construction conversation is exactly 0. Go away and find a community that embraces your bullshit.

To clarify my excitement, Pegula was the only bidder who was committed to keeping the team in Buffalo. Bon Jovis group was backed by Toronto people and Donald Trump is Donald Trump.

The Paterno thing was a comparable situation, since it was someone disgraced who had their mark on history completely rubbed out once conclusive proof (not as much as the Ray Rice video, but still) came out that they were a piece of shit with no integrity that didn't stop children from being raped :)

What conclusive proof? The Freeh report isn't conclusive. As I've mentioned, the NCAA handbook protocol for sexual violence is word for word based on the Sandusky scandal and the SOP established is exactly how Paterno handled it.

Whatever, you're an idiot, and I can't believe I'm giving you the attention. You're blocked. Good luck with your pathetic, sad existence Neutered Chuck.

Janay Rice said:
"I woke up this morning feeling like I had a horrible nightmare, feeling like I'm mourning the death of my closest friend. But to have to accept the fact that it's reality is a nightmare in itself. No one knows the pain that the media & unwanted options from the public has caused my family. To make us relive a moment in our lives that we regret every day is a horrible thing. To take something away from the man I love that he has worked his ass of for all his life just to gain ratings is horrific. THIS IS OUR LIFE! What don't you all get. If your intentions were to hurt us, embarrass us, make us feel alone, take all happiness away, you've succeeded on so many levels. Just know we will continue to grow & show the world what real love is! Ravensnation we love you!"
This is where I don't like employers having "morality" clauses. Now the victim of the attack has lost her income too.

I feel for Janay, I honestly do. I'm not going to speculate why she's stayed in an abusive relationship because it happens all too often, and the victim continues to feel like it's "their fault" somehow. She's being burdened with the blame for her husband's own stupid actions. But people commit criminal offenses every day, and they shouldn't get excused for them because they're selfish actions would make other people suffer. Hopefully, like those families, she will find alternate means of employment/income and find some peace in her life.

The media didn't throw that punch in the elevator. The league didn't drag her into the lobby unconscious. This is still all at Ray's feet and no one else.
The courts decided it was in their best interest that he completed some sort of course instead of going to jail. The NFL thought it was in their best interest that he only be briefly suspended. It is just now that they see the actual assault, that they will punish him beyond their own principles? What did they think it would look like to knock someone unconscious?

It's just now that we see the actual assault. And the courts and the league got it wrong the first time.

I forget who said it when I was watching ESPN yesterday, but the NFL has had a long tradition of "making things go away" with the help of the "right" law enforcement and officials if it suits their franchise. The "problem" happened not because they weren't aware of the severity, but when they didn't think they'd get caught, i.e. the public would see the actual footage.

Look! Up in the sky! It's a bird! It's a plane! It's...Goodell's credibility flying away!

An "independent" committee to investigate? With two owners with strong ties to Goodell overseeing it? Bullshit.

The league just wants to stall and hope the media finds a new shiny in the interim.
