Legend of Korra

Can the firebenders even create fire without air?
Good point... i'm guessing they'd still create heat, but there would be no flame until it hit some oxygen...[DOUBLEPOST=1408721394,1408721296][/DOUBLEPOST]
The idea of airbenders and firebenders fighting in two-bender teams starting with the airbender turning the oxygen in the air to a liquid is terrifying.
What, you don't like big explosions?

Well, it would either explode or turn into a jet engine in your face...

Finished the finale. My thoughts?

Holy shit guys... that ending. That was the realest thing I've ever seen. Consequences abound. I don't know if we're getting a full season next year but GOD DAMN, that ending makes me want to see what's coming.

How long is it? (Can I fit it into a lunch break?)

Sweet Satan that was an awesome finale-
the red lotus battles, Jinora becoming a master, Korra's slow recovery making you realize how real this fantasy world can get, and the obvious tease to the Korrasami shippers, it was a great finale.

THOUGHTS:

Does anyone think Bolin's lava bending has to do with his mom being a firebender? I know that sounds like a stretch but it makes sense to me.

Wondering what to high hell the next season will be called, I heard "Beginnings" somewhere and I guess thats cool but still.

FINAL NOTE- that metalbender captain is CLEARLY a red lotus, who you fooling girl?

So, I still haven't watched beyond Season 1. Is there anyplace yet where this can be streamed online? I just checked nick.com and they still only have a limited selection.

This season was the first season done right. Straight up.

And Mako, about fucking time with the lightning you simp.

I hope so. This season ended like the others should have. It's like finally getting the ending which could set up the next season and give us the best potential season. Sadly, we prolly won't see it.

Why is everyone so sure there isn't going to be a next season? They're already almost done working on it, it'll be shown.

But will we see it?
It's getting a digital release like Korra did this season. I don't know if it's going to be a full season or whatever but Nickelodeon is testing the waters with digital only shows right now, kind of like Amazon and Netflix. It has 2 or 3 shows that are ONLY on the website and will be judging whether to do more based on their success.

That's exactly what I thought... If there is some explanation, it must be that. After all, there is some heat manipulation involved.

Watched Book 3 in 3 nights. Much better. Still.... 13 episodes. Guess that will have to do.

I'm disappointed another Book has to be made... I'm kinda looking forward to a new avatar. I don't hate Korra per say (she's grown on me) and the support cast is good but MEH... TLA was SOOOO much better.

Anyone else feel it felt wrong to have another VA for Zuko? They kinda wasted the VA for his grandson who was in what... 1 episode?

Rufio still sounds 11 years old. He didn't even sound right for an adult version of Zuko's grandson.
Basically this. I think Zuko needed that stronger, older voice.

As for getting another book made... I really don't view season one as part of the story, persay. It was written and produced back when they thought they were only getting 12-13 episodes to tell a complete story, so it HAD to be wrapped up by then. Then Nick went CRAZY, ordered three more seasons two episodes in, and suddenly they had to write a longer story.

Considering this season and the last were very connected thematically, it seems to me that seasons 2-4 are going to be one big epic arc and that season 4 will end Korra's story. As for where the next story goes, I can really only think of two or three options and the only good one is having the next season by about people fighting AGAINST a oppressive, authoritarian Avatar.

Finished Book 3 tonight. I think this is the first time I'm caught up since ATLA. Anyway, awesome conclusion. Only thing I had issue with was ...

Zahir's plan for how to deal with Korra was interesting to say the least, but two problems to it.
1. The problem we saw, i.e. get the Avatar into the Avatar state to end the cycle? Yeah, great, kill her when she's fucking super-powered. Brilliant.
2. We kind of did this last season, didn't we? End of the cycle, end of the Avatar. I feel like this would have had more at stake if the past lives hadn't already been severed from Korra.

I kind of doubt we'd see that, not to mention we've already had a pretty stiff personality for this Avatar. Though one of the Avatars when we saw the grouping of past lives looked like kind of a warlord, so there's a precedence probably.

Not surprised: when it comes to digital medium, the concept of seasons is pointless. This may be Nick just finally realizing that what they've mismanaged the franchise up to now and it's time to just get it out there.

Agreed- LET'S COUNT!

1. Glider suits, because they had them in the How to tame you dragon sequel so fuck it.
2. Bolin has joined the metal clan, and has probably master lava bending.
3. Obviously evil metal clan lady is evil OR incredibly misleading clips.
4. AWESOME NEW MECHA TANKS! Its a shame this is probably the last Avatar series, cos I would LOVE to see what the tech is like next generation.
5. Korra gets a symbolic hair-cut of symbolism because this is Avatar.

It might not be the last Avatar series if it's making money on digital. We just might get shorter, more concise seasons of whatever comes next.

Fair point, there's also rumors of a movie. But really, pick a cartoon show and you'll find a rumor for it that end up not being true. "Kim Possible's getting a fifth, sixth, and seventh season!" NO IT'S NOT DAMMIT!

Kim Possible already got extra episodes. That it made it past 52 is a testament to it's popularity.
