[Gaming] Diablo 3 : Ser Farm-A-Lot

The best part is that it just adds a socket. So it doesn't take anything else away.
In fact, if you get something that does have a socket, you can have Miryam change the socket to something else...and then use the Gift to drill the socket right back on again (but with the now extra stat).

Just started a Monk. Lets see if I enjoy this one too :)

And what, money is shared across characters?!? This is awesome!
Stash is shared amongst characters, too. You just can't share anything across game types (normal, hardcore, seasonal, hardcore seasonal).

You only use them in early games, anyway. Once you hit 60 you'll make a few things but after that it's not worth it.

There are some level 70 blacksmithing plans (reapers wraps, griswold's perfection, etc) that make for good entry torment gear.

I've never made anything at 70 that beat anything I found in the wild, including set stuff (unless you make everything from the set).

There are quite a few useful items that you can craft, but of course first you have to find the plans. Also, many of the things you might craft are build-specific (maxing out bonus exp, for instance). The one exception to this that most people agree on is the Aughild's Authority set (the level 70 one) due to its damage reduction and increased damage v. elite enemies, but even then you'll be repeatedly crafting and rerolling the pieces before you finally get the stats right where you want them.

Playing the Monk made me realize how I was taking it too easy with the Witch Doctor and upped the difficulty to Torment 3. Basic troops are easy, but I really need to up my damage to Elites.

There's a point (probably right around T4) where it ceases to be about how much raw damage you can do and damage reduction (or avoidance) really starts to become a necessity.

There is definitely that, too. I want to have a strong damage output which will allow me to pump more resources into vitality increases and damage reduction (especially the amulet to ignore Holy, those circling beams in caves are brutal). The thing is, I need to get to that point first. Really feel like I'm making progress though :)

I hate key farming. Kill monster for a chance to get item. Do this in 3 different acts. Now put them together and hope another item drops. Do this a crap ton more times and hope you get the organs to eventually get a ring. So obnoxious.

5 trips into Infernal portals and not a single organ has dropped.

The "official" advice is that means you have to crank up the difficulty, because the chance to get parts increases with level (up to a guaranteed 100% at T6, I think).
So turn it up as much as you can stand, then tough it out until you get a ring/amulet, then hopefully with the new jewelry you can crank it up another notch, then build the other one, etc.

The drop rates are so much better at T6 (T5 for the Realm of Evil) for the organs. They also now drop for everyone in a party if one person wins the roll.

Yeah, I almost die at T3. Guess I'll just save the keys from now on and wait till I can handle T6.

Thanks for the advice :)

Sad but true story: the servers barfed last night when I was a few kills away from finishing my greater rift guardian. :(

Also, is anyone else getting much lower trial results and having to go through several rifts to get to the point of being able to try to best their records?

I've noticed that the RNG has been less generous than usual. I assume this is because I frequently leave my keyboard for extended periods of time and the game is engaging some of the anti-bot provisions.

Also, Rank #651 for seasonal achievements on NA server. Woo-hoo!

Rejiggered my stats for maximum defense and took my seasonal Monk from T3 up to T6.
Immediately went and popped open a (yellow) rift.
It took AN HOUR but I managed it with only a dozen or so deaths.
Gotta up my damage output if I'm gonna live there, though.

There is so much i could do with my Witch Doctor i don't think I'm getting the most out of him. Soon I'll make better use of the Ring of Grandeur I got and get some better set bonuses. Would really like to push my WD damage in the 1 Million range so I can step it up to Torment 5 or even 6.
