[PC Game] World of Warcraft: Catch All Thread

Usually you will find two types of DDOS attacks. Those done by people doing a form of protest, and those done by trolls just wanting to watch people bitch and moan. The first group usually last a lot longer since they have a righteous drive for why they do it, while the second group attacks usually happen until the novelty wears off.

WoD release was a perfect time for the second group to just mess the first day experience, as that is usually when the most players concentrate online at once, throwing fuel on the fire of an already hot situation. They enjoy watching the pain, the whining, the chaos, but then move on. I am pretty sure now that we are on the second day much of the attacks will stop.

Honestly the only folks I genuinely have no sympathy for are the ones who thought taking launch day plus one or two off from work was a good idea. How many xpac releases do people have to go through before they understand it's going to be a rough start?

Also, played my Feral till about 2am this morning, and it's pretty enjoyable. Got about 1/4 left to 92, and along the way found all sorts of rares, a bonus kill quest, and did a little herbalism. I love having a reason to wander and explore, haven't had that in a loooooooooong time.

I've beaten the queue boss, now I'm wiping on retrieving character list boss.[DOUBLEPOST=1415993871,1415993626][/DOUBLEPOST]

You know, that's an excellent point. Most of the study data I was looking at were about DDoS "in the wild" so to speak. This could well be a different type of animal.

I wiped on character not found too. It's brutal.

I've straight given up on my current main, so I'm rolling PvP on a buddy's med pop server. Fuck it.
I rolled a new character on a medium population server earlier today, just to get to play. Then I got disconnected.

Upon reentering, that server is now locked, with a huge queue as well.

I took a shower and made dinner. Then I put together a puzzle on my iPad and watched last night's Daily Show. I'm almost out of queue now.

Playing a brand new mistweaver monk, because I can't play any of my other characters, I've discovered that there are a ton of broken tooltips for low level mistweavers. I guess blizzard never bothered playtesting any that weren't already level 100, because the tooltips for their skills say they do things, but they don't actually do the things until much higher level.

Surging mist, for example, claims that it gains a lower cooldown for every chi that you spend. But it doesn't, at all. And doing some digging seems to suggest that this is now an invisible passive skill that can't be viewed in the spellbook, but that you get somewhere around level 50.

I'd check for you, but my mistweaver is on Wyrmrest Accord, and ain't nobody got time for that queue.

I'm really glad about now that I never transferred my priest, paladin and DK to Wyrmrest. I've been able to quest just fine on my DK and Pally.

My son called. About 2 minutes later I left the queue. And since I didn't get back from the call...disconnected.

I have my garrison up to level 2, got my character up to 92. My shield attack now hits 5 ,mobs.... BLISS! I'm afraid to tank an instance yet, though.

Not going to get anything done until Sunday morning at this point. 45 minute queues at best. EVERY realm is locked. Tomorrow's maintenance starts before I get home, and will likely extend past my bedtime. Expect everything to be full again this time tomorrow night, and there ya go...

Oh! Yeah I DPS'd the Slag Mines, and it was super easy. Tank pulled multiple groups at once and as long as someone interrupts that channeled Stun some mobs do it's pretty painless. I was hoping to queue up for the docks tonight, but it'll depend on the queue, I guess. Stupid night shifts, making me have to log out.

Just a heads up, but you can purchase the blueprint to update the mine to level 2 from the vender near the drafting station. It costs 1k gold and some resources. I already updated mine.

I might need to do that, then, Alchemy recipes are really weird so far, at least the ones I bought off the Lab vendor in my Garrison. They use various ores/fish/etc as opposed to just plants and vials. I did get to make my 620ilvl Philo Stone already, though, can use it at level 91+ and it's got like 145 Mastery on it, plus proccing something like 600 of your best main stat.

I'm super choked about not being able to set up my engineer work orders at all today.

It's 3:40 am and there's still a 500 strong queue. BLECH.

20 minutes until login, just in time for maintenance.

Man, I know this, you Alliance folk have a WAY lamer garrison. Icy brutal mountains with lava pools all around is so badass.

Also, there's no way Maraad and whoever else follows him around is as cool as Durotan and Draka (especially Draka).
Well I'm glad I boosted a 90 Orc Shaman.

Maintenance appears to be over early. All realms are up. No queue. No "character not found" problem when I tried to log in.

This is going to be a good day ;)
