[Gaming] Diablo 3 : Ser Farm-A-Lot

I have found the bestest surestest way of finding unique items:
step 1: spend all your blood shards on buying <item>, get a bunch of yellow and blue nonsense
step 2: find plan to craft set/unique <item>
step 3: get halfway decent version of <item> at the blacksmith
step 4: use up your Forgotten Souls and whatever to make it a fairly decent version of <item>
step 5: walk out into any random crappy area on a low difficulty and shoot some crates, vases, whatever, the smaller and less significant the better
step 6: find better unique version of <item>

-_- Aka "how I found my new boots" :p

I spent a foolish amount of shards on the boots for my monk that let you have two mystic allies. So many. Then of course a better pair drops in the next rift. This game is evil sometimes.

My monk was squishy and sad so I changed a few things up and she now has a respectable amount of toughness/life. There's no shame in my DH face-planting but a monk shouldn't get one shot.

This is basically why I don't play Monk or Barb: I can ether give them a respectable amount of survivability and take forever killing mobs or I can turn them into wrecking machines that'll get killed against certain monsters. This is opposed to my Wzard, who melts things so fast that I don't need to worry about... anything, short of terror or stun.

You've played more DH, Monk and Barb than I have :p (not surprising anyone at all ever, I've played more Crusader :whistling:)

Comparing Career (which doesn't take seasonal characters into account apparently) you and me are fairly even....I won't mention Squidley's numbers or we'll just both feel inadequate :p

Check mine out sometime.
Keep in mind that I've already deleted quite a few lvl70 chars with hundreds of hours of gameplay.
You have nothing to feel bad about. :)

Lol! My numbers for what??

Hours played, level, etc (PatrThom: Battlenet doesn't forget :p). You can see a couple (by far not enough in my opinion :p) numbers like percentage of time spent per class, number of elites killed in total and per character, etc, by looking in your battle.net account. You can see anyone's account if you have their name and battletag (see first post of this thread :p), just like you can see a character's gear and such.
I'm at work so battle.net is blocked, but if you go to a profile, for example mine: http://eu.battle.net/d3/en/profile/Bubble181-2741/hero/55145397 , you can click through to a tab "career". Note that for someone else's profile you'll have to change the "eu" at the beginning of the url to "us". Ash and me have a fairly similar number of killed elites, hours played, monsters killed (each some 120K IIRC). You have....a teeny tiny bit more :p

There is an online calculator that you can put your battle tag in and it will tell you what your combined level will be after. I realise that experience is experience but at least on seasons, I gain levels quickly.

I need 2,362,330,000 exp for my next non-season level :(

I have more seasonal than non-seasonal paragon levels by now :p
But yikes....Even with some 3000 extra XP per kill that gem doesn't make much of a dent in that 2 billion

It does...if you play on levels higher than "Normal." That extra XP you get from the gem and from other gear is multiplied by game difficulty level, so at T6 that 3000 becomes an extra 48000/kill, and then set bonuses/helm gems/multiplayer multiplies against that.

Even so. Still easily 20K kills for her next level.
Better than 320k kills, though.
Keep in mind that this is BONUS experience, that is exp above and beyond what the critter normally gives, and does not count the exp granted at the end of rifts, quests, etc. Also don't forget that you can take advantage of the "reset quests" button as often as you want.

For regular experience, mid 30s greater rifts grant a lot more experience even than T6. It's the way to go if it can be cleared quickly.

And there is the group buff for enhanced experience and loot drops.[DOUBLEPOST=1425431097,1425430997][/DOUBLEPOST]Only 565,080,000 for my next seasonal level!

Hey, I don't make up my advice out of thin air. ;)

--Patrick
I never assume you do (and if you check my wizard you'll see that despite my reply I did try out your advice and am following most of it since they turned out better than the numbers'd suggest to me :p)

I know sheet numbers lie, what with passives and energy armor and such, but I'm honestly flabbergasted at your wizard having half my toughness and recovery and still being alive. Lord knows I've been in a few situations where I simply couldn't get out fast enough (and yes, I know, mobility skills, but hey, that's why I softcore :p ). Double my damage though. Which I still have lacking despite my best efforts.

High dps is how I proceed on most of my characters in the hopes that things will die way before they reach me.

My regular WD (the pet one) somehow has high toughness too which is great for grifts.

SC mostly - damage is quadruple mine and recovery and toughness half. I know, the best defense is a good offense but....Yikes.
I was referring to the HC originally (hence the "still alive"), but then I compared and saw the numbers are closer together - I was comparing your sheet damage to mine buffed, which is obviously very wrong :p
Still, your HC one has quarter the recovery of my SC wiz and as soon as I go to T4 I find myself occasionally dying (always against those blasted Unique Sand Wasps. Their attacks are easy to avoid but not if you're jailed or walled....Bah!) no matter how careful I am. (also, everything dies too slowly on T4 - I'm sticking to T3 for now)
Should I swap out that LoH gem for a ChD gem? 120% extra damage 30% of the time sounds like a lot but I'm not sure where the extra damage is calculated from - which is often my problem when gearing, I think.

I will happily discuss damage with you if we can find a good way to do so. :)
Also, my HC Wiz leans very, very heavily on that legendary wand, which allows him to teleport pretty much whenever he darn well pleases.

I noticed the wand, pretty much sounds like the only way I'd ever be able to finish a rift in 2 minutes or whatever the achievement is :p

I would really like to get a seasonal group together and kill that achievement. If we each go in opposite directions, we should be able to destroy a normal level rift in 2 minutes.

I have...maybe 10 minutes until the lady gets home :p[DOUBLEPOST=1425502076,1425501980][/DOUBLEPOST]a-heh. Unlocking Torment doesn't carry over from real to realm, either. I think I'll ask your help tomorrow or so when I have a bit more time, to speedrun through story mode and unlock everything ;)
