[Gaming] Diablo 3 : Ser Farm-A-Lot

How the fuck does he strafe that much without losing hatred?
He's using the Preparation:Focused Mind rune, which feeds you discipline over time rather than giving it to you all at once. No idea what he's doing to keep his hatred full, except that you can see it start to go down once the Focused Mind runs out.
He's taking advantage of multiple "reduce cost" items. His current profile shows he gets a -53% total cost (just to fire skills, -24% to everything else), and he has the Templar to increase his hatred regen.

Well, I'm running Torment VI now, but I died a fair bit and it takes me a while to kill elites. I've respecced and while it's more effective, I don't like playing it as much. I've swapped out a lot of stuff for sentries and the like. I'm used to strafing in and out, not bounding around the battlefield like Tigger on steroids.

The build link from that YouTube video doesn't match what's on the screen so I have no idea what all he's got. Still experimenting, though.

If you're playing on T6 at all then you're doing pretty well. I still have yet to build any characters who can reliably survive on T6.

Just started doing T5 yesterday. The regular guys go down fast enough and killing isn't really the issue (though, you know, it's at maybe a quarter the speed of that guy :p), but I'm squishy as all hell now. Changing 8000 life per hit to 17% increased cold damage makes a huge difference in both killing and staying alive. Still, I've only died once since starting T5, so I guess I'm doing ok. Only downside is that, compared to before, my frost nova's and fan of knives aren't as useful - before I wanted to wade into the thick of things and have them hit me to proc it all the time. Now I can't survive that anymore :p

I'm more surprised at the amount of legendaries and set items - I don't see a quarter that much on a rift.

Man, you guys make me jealous. I've only managed to climb to T2 so far this season.
This could be because I'm concentrating more on achievements than advancement, I suppose.

I'm pretty sure once I get a good Cindercoat I'll be able to reliably kill Elites on T6. Really need that extra fire damage while not losing the other buffs I have.

Huh. I'd guess your seasonal wizard to be at least as strong as mine. Am I just fighting at too high a level and taking deaths and slowing down in stride though it's actually counterindicated?

I cleared a T5 rift in 13 minutes yesterday, though I did die twice in it (to the same bunch of enemies - damn their frozen-molten-horde combo getting me stuck near exploding bits)

My general play style is very conservative. It may just be that I'm not playing high enough to die enough to get the gear that'll give me that edge to where I won't die as much ("buying that gear with my deaths," as it were), because my inability to kill quickly is ultimately due to a lack of specific gear.
Also, my seasonal Wiz is Hardcore, which means death is riskier for her. I figure once she hits P100 (to get the achievement) she'll get shelved and I'll just use her to finish closing out all the HC achievements while I focus the remainder of my seasonal time on my non-HC chars.

Even on sale, RoS is STILL like 20 bucks. That's ridiculous for a 2 year old expansion to an even older game.
Actually, the game is only 2 months old, because that's when patch 2.1.2 was released.
Also, patch 2.2.0 is in testing, and then the timer will reset.

You don't get a reduced ticket price just because the concert is half-over.

So, just got a Firebird's Breast to drop. It's already better than my previous armor, so, wearing it (set bonus for Firebird = 500 INT = better than 10% decreased damage from elites as far as I'm concerned). However, it isn't exactly a perfect roll. I'm a bit torn between trying to reroll the attacker-takes-damage to some more resistance (or life on kill), or rerolling the Black Hole damage to Hydra - I tried Black Hole for a bit as a replacement for Blizzard, but even using the Absolute Zero rune (up to 30% increased cold damage for 10 seconds after use) it still felt not nearly as strong - and the 12 second cooldown is just a pain.
Any thoughts? Yes, I know, wait for a better one to drop, but in the meantime :p ?

Don't forget that +500INT also comes with a free +50RA (1RA for every 10INT), if that matters.
Improving that with a reroll is going to be difficult. Few affixes can appear on chest armor (see here for yourself).

Defintely not rerolling the INT, but the "attacker takes 3000 damage" seems fairly useless to me...And could be more interesting as a +150 physical (or whatever the $#é£ those Boggan Trappers do) resist.

Just got an ancient Wand of Woh. It's neat, and obviously improves damage substantially over my Serpent's Sparker, but requires quite a gameplay change. Not sure if I'm a fan. Again, darn cooldown. It crits for around 20M though, which is fun to see, even if it isn't actually any more damaging than a second hydra would be....

Bwahaha. Got the Gem of Ease to level 25 (finally). My Very First Barba....oops, he's already level 38. I don't think that took 10 minutes. I mean, I'm all in favor of making leveling an alt a bit easier, especially for us solo players who normally need, you know, several hours, but....once this gem is out of seasonal they might as well allow people just starting at level 60 or so.
That said, I haven't had the chance to try out many barbarian skills yet, but he seems fun. And I might finally get around to leveling one of each class to some sort of decent level now. Nice break from the treadmill of Bubble :p

Imagine what it's like when you actually gear for exp while you're leveling.

--Patrick
Can't imagine it actually being much faster for the bit I just did - I literally spent 10 minutes to well over 30. Stopping to change level 1 gear to level whatever with +exp would actually slow it down. I imagine it's still worth it from here on out, more or less - at level 40 you can add a couple of hundred exp per kill.
Also, the biggest benefit for a solo player isn't the +exp...it's that you're handing your level 1 character a weapon that does 3.000 dps :p

Can't imagine it actually being much faster for the bit I just did - I literally spent 10 minutes to well over 30.
-Start with a level 1 character.
-Give him a BFG9000 weapon + gem of ease.
-Start a brand new adventure mode game with that level 1 char in T6.
-Have 3 other level 70 chars join so your exp bonus is increased by an additional 33%. The game level should stay at level 1 (making it easier for the noob char to survive).
-Start clearing bounties. The noob char will have to stay nearby, so he should concentrate on assigning "get me out of here" skills as he gets them. He should also don gear as it becomes available.
-Just after level 20, switch out your helmet for one with a socket with a giant ruby in it. Bonus points if it happens to include the Cain's Fate set, preferably with a RoRG so you only have to wear 2 pieces to get an additional 30% exp.
-Once you hit level 45-ish, add two pieces of the Cain's Destiny set (with "level requirement reduced by 25" on each piece) to gain another +50% bonus experience.
-Reduce difficulty one notch when the killing slows down too much (or the deaths come too frequently), repeat as needed.

This is the fastest way I can think of to level that doesn't require micromanaging a bunch of "+xxx experience per kill" items.

Like I said - I was referring specifically to single player. That leveling is easier when a bunch of 70s are clearing T6 bounties is obvious (and I don't think the GoE will make a big difference - it only adds to exp from your own kills, so in this scenario, that'd be, what, 2 accidental kills somewhere along the line 'till you're in your 40s?). And I admit I construed your "gear for exp" as being gear, that is, a helmet with a ruby in it and indeed some of Cain's stuff. Which I agree will make a big difference once you're going up some levels. I'll probably craft those for him soon to help with the last few levels.

If you're drowning in deeps due to having an ancient legendary + the gem of ease, your kills will not be accidental. You'll probably still be facemelting things until you start hitting your 60's...which you'll probably do in about the first 20min or so.[DOUBLEPOST=1426727863,1426727351][/DOUBLEPOST]...Oh, and I forgot about including a Hellfire ring (also wearable at level 1) for an additional 35%/45%.

Do you suppose it's because of 2.2.0? Didn't want to release a major update during a season? And/or start a new season with everybody still fairly "fresh" on changed mechanics etc?
