Joking aside, I do agree, so I think he's likely to be the least of anyone's worries with this movie.
Jesse Eisenberg is a pretty solid actor so he gets benefit of the doubt. That said, I really, really hope that his Luthor isn't the swarmy arrogant kid he played in Social Network and Now You See Me. I know he can do more than that, but he's a bit known for that particular type, and I just can't feel Luthor like that.
Come to think of it, that's not too far off from the way Mark Waid wrote Luthor in Birthright.
Hmm... that doesn't look... too bad. Not amazing, but not terrible.
He'd be guaranteed a posthumous academy award, though...

That's a shame. I was really looking forward to seeing Michelle Maclaren make the jump to the big screen.
On the bright side, now she can go do a Marvel movie instead.

Sorry, I just can't help but think that she wanted to make the character upbeat and optimistic instead of dark and gritty and was shot down. Too bad.... from her work on Breaking Bad alone I would have been interested in seeing this but now I will wait for cable just like the rest of the DC movies.

The first trailer for Necksnapper McMurderson vs. Broody McDeadparents got leaked. And boy, if you guys didn't get enough of the Christ parallels in Man of Steel, are you in for a treat because it's even WORSE if the trailer is any indication.
It's actually about Superman, the DC Superhero that is really famous and has had countless prior adaptations. He also goes by Clark Kent. This is a sequel to Man of Steel which was also about Superman.

I probably shouldn't judge the quality of the movie based on a crappy trailer, but I really dislike overly dark films where you can't see what's going on. Oh well. I really like Bats, but I am not broken up by this. DC needs to make a deal with Marvel studios (yeah right).

I sit in the box and I feel shame.
The end dialogue shouldn't even have belonged to Batman. It sounded more like something Lobo would say: "Can you bleed? Well, you're about to!" is right in line with a parody of grimdark 90's anti-heroes.
