[Gaming] Diablo 3 : Ser Farm-A-Lot

I really can't! I would have to buy a computer and then start from scratch where on the X-Box I can transfer my characters from the 360. Besides, and I know this is sacrilege, I prefer the controller over keyboard/mouse combo.

You...you know you can get USB controllers for PCs, right?
Doesn't solve the "need to buy a computer" part, tho.

Yeah,, I know USB controllers are for PC's too, but I also remember having trouble getting them to work with a lot of games. Nice thing about games made for consoles is the controllers always work with the games :)

But yeah, PC's are expensive. Especially if we were to get one which is good![DOUBLEPOST=1428609203,1428609143][/DOUBLEPOST]
We can also help you level :)

I can't help with with the computer part sadly.
I know you would! Believe me, I'd love to join you fine folks in playing D3. One of the few groups of people I'd prefer gaming with rather than soloing on my own. :D

The new Zuni set is awesome! I've already improved my personal best by 4 levels!

And was 40 seconds shy of the leaderboard....grrr

Cool! I have a question about the patching...

Do you have to get an all new set to get the new stuff on it or does it get applied to your old stuff? I'm guessing new stuff...

I had to farm the new pants and gloves but my old piece's set bonuses were already changed. Their stats remained the same so I will need a new String of Skulls with the bonus FA damage.

I'm now looking for an Ancient Dagger of Darts so of course I get another SMK. RNG is so mean.

Has anyone decided what they want to play this season?

Depends on the stuff. Sets are generally retroactive unless otherwise specified, but most of the non-green legendary stuff will have to be found new. Like it says in the patch notes:
Blizzard said:
Legendary powers on a number of existing items have been added or improved. Note that these changes are not retroactive and only apply to items found after 2.2.0. As a rule, we try to not to change existing Legendary items, though we will often make an exception for Set items. This is because Set items work in conjunction with each other and creating a new set would force players who have an existing set to start over.
The only non-set retroactive changes I know about are when they nerfed The Furnace and that other frozen sword which both came with "crushing blow" mechanics. That's the term used when a weapon does damage based on the amount of remaining health on an enemy, and Blizzard felt this made boss-hunting too easy (especially with the new Greater Rift system).

Gotcha. Thanks @PatrThom and @Squidleybits!

Holy crap on a cracker, this is so much nicer!!! Lightning and ground damage isn't nearly as bad as it used to be. Just incredible how much easier T6 is.

And WOW! ONE KEY to enter Rifts?!? That's crazy town!

ONE KEY(stone) to enter rifts, but need 4 keys to enter one of the 4 uber realms to get the pieces for your jewelry.

So it's like this: Farm bounties for yellow stones, farm yellow rifts for purple stones, farm purple rifts for legendary gemstones and the upgrading of same.

Woah, and my bloodshard capacity has increased for beating the lvl 33 thingie. Three Legendaries dropped. I even gained two paragon levels in the last two hours. That's a ton faster than I was going before.[DOUBLEPOST=1428709780,1428709600][/DOUBLEPOST]And I just killed my Nemesis on T6. Couldn't do that before.

I just checked to make sure I was still on T6. No wonder you thought I was being wimpy before! This is EASY compared to the 360.

My god, the levels!!

Ran into a pack of nasty Elite renegade angels, reflecting damage, shielded, cold orbs and reflects damage. Ouch! Died 3 times against them, still was able to beat the rift guardian in time.

I know I said I was on 33, but I'm thinking that was a lower level as I just beat 32 and got a bloodshard upgrade.

The legendary drops in this are astounding. Wow, I feel spoiled now!

Higher-level greater rifts (i.e., anything 26 and up) will spoil you for drops, assuming you can survive.

I'm not sure about taking away all the other achievements. I doubt I'll be able to place in the achievements this season because the achievements all seem to be aimed at the "blast through everything no matter what don't stop for anything" crowd this time around.

Yup, I average 32.

Boo! Sorry to hear the achievements don't seem to support diversity in play.

I just don't know why they dropped them all. I assume it is because they are testing the waters. I know they have to be getting metrics on which achievements get completed, the same way they get metrics on which legendaries get scrapped the most, which skills get used the most, etc, so I assume they are running a trial to see how "rifty" people will get if they don't have all these other things to distract them and maybe can focus on maximizing just one or two characters.

A couple of them require completing level 40 grifts under the effect of three different class sets. So either insane soloing or coordinating some competitive groups.

Someone just got that very achievement about 10 min ago (it was "Quin69" if you want to check his profile).
So...about 40hrs into the season, and people are already 1) completing multiple class sets and 2) hitting level 40 solo grifts.

Me? I'm up to level 23.

My best are a 42 on my Carnevil doc and 40 on my DH. Both of these are with characters that I leveled and looked for gear on for months.

My current seasonal is 70 (20) with some pretty hurting gear. There are people in my clan working on T2/3 but that's a far cry from solo 40!!! I don't know how that's physically possible.

I think I'll be able to get the stuff to make the Carnevil build soon as well. Still missing the dagger and a couple other essentials and then I can work on improving the pieces I have to make the most of it. Still, doing pretty well considering I have only been playing on solo D3 RoS without any patches.

This is so awesome it's incredible I've waited so long. I've missed out on a ton of stuff and I love the hell out of these gems. Taking a very long time to level them though!

Ok, I thought it might be interesting to portray my thoughts on Diablo comparing the most current patch to what I am still oddly used to, that which was right after the release of Reaper of Souls since that's as far as the 360 went.

Differences:
The base game is easier with the newer patches. It just is. There are a couple monsters I've found to deal a stupid amount of damage (exorcists? WTF?!?), but other than these I've found my damage and ability to take damage to be improved heavily by the change to the newest patch.

Item drops: Holy shit, you have no idea how good you have it if you have gradually entered this. The difference is HUGE. I am stoked every time I enter a rift as I know it will take a whopping two rift keys to get a huge drop set f stuff.

Experience. I've gained a crap ton in the last two days. Seriously, if you told me I would be at P355 right now, I would have laughed at you. This happens so fast, right now I have 4 Paragon levels to assign yet. Just NUTS.

Bloodshards: Holy balls, what the hell?!? What was the point of raising the cost of everything if you were going to just increase the drops of Bloodshards? It's like telling me my pizza is going to cost $50, but don't worry since I'l be making $30 an hour now. Totally bonkers.

Edit: Rift Guardians: They're a lot easier than they were before. Previously I would have a very hard time playing against a T6 Guardian, and there were a few which I was able to hold my own against but a few others which would utterly destroy me. Now, though, I find the Guardians to be more even than before. It makes running Rifts much better and the Greater Rifts are a good upgrade to the challenges.

Overall these are great changes. I'm having a hell of a lot of fun playing it and having new goals to reach has kept the game fresh.

Aaaaand someone just got first to get to the achievement for leveling 6 gems to level 40 in hardcore mode.
Man, I'm not even to my first level 70 yet.

So...that means, realistically, doing at least 30 or 40 level 36 or so grifts, consistently, fast, in hardcore. One week or so after the start of the new season. That's insane. Or would they be doing comparatively low level grifts they can faceroll in 5 minutes, with lower success rates on the gems? Either way.....Yeech.

Welp, I've upgraded quite a bit. My Fire Dog build is doing 1350k DPS according to the lying screen, and has +54% Fire Damage.

You might be able to faceroll a grift in order to get the gems, but in order to get a 100% chance to upgrade a gem, you have to complete a grift that is 10 levels higher than your gem. So that means either consistently hitting level 50 grifts, or else getting into the mid 40's and being happy with only a 60% chance. A reminder at this point that grift level 25 is supposed to be equivalent to T6.

Also, the season has only been going now for just a little over 65hrs.

--Patrick

I'm slowly working on getting through the solo grifts and went to bed after 20. My wizard has a few more levels in her but is not T6/25 ready yet.

I feel silly for rushing her then not being on much over the weekend.

Hey I only just made paragon last night. I'd play more co-op games but it doesn't seem there are many other seasonal HC players out there. Ones who aren't all "eyes on the prize," that is.
