[Gaming] Diablo 3 : Ser Farm-A-Lot

So this is why you couldn't make it to Halforums game night? :fu:
That and being in a hotel room with barely any access to anything, yes.
Also the fact that I have to talk with my wife for an hour or two every day or else she gets upset.
Got two of my HS quests out of the way, though.

Aurgh! Gauntlet of the Wastes, why must you be so elusive!!

So close to having a strong set-up for my WW Barb. To have a better chance to make T6 easy, I really need those Dust Devils. Right now it's a bit of a slog however.

Got it! Not only that, but the first run through T6 rift and the smart drop failed and gave me a Flying Dragon for my monk. Very cool!

I get the feeling that the Smart Loot™ system occasionally fails on purpose so you will have a chance at a nice piece of gear for your alts or followers as well.

I'm starting to wonder why I ever played WD now. The whirlwind barb is disgustingly good, destroying GR38 with no problems while the WD often dies and struggles to get the rift started. My WD has almost all Ancient Legendary gear while the Barb has all basic gear. Just sick.

I can see why the podcasts say the WD needs a boost of some sort.

I can do 40 on my WD wearing Zuni and using the tiki mask with a generic poopy weapon. Sadly, it's nowhere near as easy as a wizard.

My barb is missing a few key pieces of gear for the WW build but I'd like to try it eventually.

I'm only missing the weapon for the IK set to make it complete, but using an Ancient The Grandfather helps tremendously. I just completed a 39 with 8 1/2 minutes to spare, and it was that lightning bastard which walls and mimics itself. Permanent Ancients along with them gathering Fury makes spinning a permanent thing most of the time. More than anything, the Dust Devils do the work.

That barb build can be unpopular at times, though. You can stack so much movement speed with the WW that you end up clearing rifts in only a few minutes and other people can't even stick with you to pick up the loot.
Also I'm trying to do something with that build but don't have the pieces yet. I will say that Roland's Legacy is absolutely ridiculous when paired with the right side gear.

After a much needed break I'm back to working on my DH and getting some more paragon levels. Is anyone else still playing this season?

Much to @HCGLNS's delight rifts go much faster with Usher blasting.

I'm close to that for the season. I think I've used up all my seasonal weapon luck though. I'm trying to get an ancient Nat's so I can try that build but no go so far.

I'm still stuck in HotS but Diablo's right next door...
Unfortunately I'll be mired in manual labor for the next few days.

I cannot fathom getting that far in the few months a season lasts. Then again, I've never been in a group. :)

While I prefer playing on my own, I've now played in a group twice and....even with 2, the difference in speed is staggering. Can't really enjoy much of the scenery or take your time to loot, compare, whatever, though.

It all depends on the group and what you agree to up front. I'm happy to fully clear rifts and open everything. Many aren't though.

Grouping is the way to go for sure for levelling fast. I grouped with clan mates most of the early part of the season and that's where I got most of my levels.

How long would you have to play in order to match some of the top players in season 3? We're talking people who have gone from level 1 to > Paragon 1000 since the start of S3.
Someone did the math for you in this Diablo forum thread.

Spoiler alert: Some of the #1 top players average just under 20hrs/day, every day. That is not a typo.

Some people do suggest that, yes.

OTOH, I do know people who actually do spend 15+ hours a day on one game for weeks on end - or used to, at various points in their lives, anyway. It's certainly not impossible. But lord knows multiboxing was never hard in D3, even when the RMAH was active. I never did (I offer my incredibly impressive gear and characters as proof :p), but a few friends and my brother did, and not a single one was caught. *shrug*

That is absolutely crazy. Thankfully I have other things I can do to keep me from devoting an obscene amount of time to the game.

To place on the Seasonal Leaderboards a solo level 51 rift is needed on a Wizard....holy crap
Well when you have Wizards hitting GR72 and up, that's to be expected.

I imagine a lot of these astronomical GR levels will start to be unreachable once Blizzard nerfs all the lockdown mechanics, since right now the limiting factor for GRifts seems to be whether or not you can do enough damage to the Rift Boss to kill him before the timer runs out rather than being able to survive the rift itself.
