[Gaming] Diablo 3 : Ser Farm-A-Lot

Wow, I only just clued in. I mean level her back up. SquishCake was VerySquishy's back up. I need a new back up in place before I push the leaderboards again.

Two achievements left for Slayer. Level a gem is obviously easy-peasy and just takes a bit of time - I could've been there already if I hadn't gotten some of the gems in the most crappy order possible, meaning I've been waffling a bit and raising several a bit instead of concentrating on one.
The other one's the T7 Neph Rift under 7 minutes. Since I've started trying, every rift has been stacked with either Boggans (FUCK THOSE GUYS), Spiders, or a hundred thousand dead ends. This one's obviously fairly trivial in a group, but I've gotten this far completely solo and it'd feel a bit like cheating to get a PUG to reach this. I'm sure I could do it eventually, but I'm leaving on vacation in 3 days and I just know I won't get back to D3 when I get back - this is effectively season's end for me. Oh well, keep on trying.

Also, I'm finally having some luck as far as sets go - 4 pieces of Helltooth, 3 of Zunimassa's, 2 of Arachyr's...And 5 of those 9 dropped over the last hour or two. All regular and not with the greatest stats imaginable, but still, it might make it possible to rebuild the WD from the ground up for a completely different build.

finished a GR30 in 6:16. Since that's supposedly the same difficulty level, if GR and NRs are the same size etc, and I can resist the temptation to always go and pick up everything :p, I should be able to manage it. Hmmm.

On a related note: for GRs, there's a clear timer and it's listed as you finish how much time you took. is there a similar counter for NRs? Because according to my clock, I did this last one in 7 minutes, but I don't keep a close enough watch to know if it's 7:01 or 7:59, and I'm kind of curious :)

I'm going to have trouble with GRs until I can get the last pieces of my Helltooth set. Without the extra damage on Wall of the Dead, you don't have enough damage to really get going.

is there a similar counter for NRs?
Nope.
What I did was to just start the stopwatch app on my phone when I opened the rift and keep it visible.
Keep in mind that for a GR, the timer stops right when you kill the RG. But for Nephalem rifts, the timer doesn't actually stop until you 'port back to town, run alllll the way across the city, and actually talk to Orek. So if you're someone who kills the RG in 6 minutes but then wanders around gathering loot, visiting vendors, tying your shoes, etc, then your actual timer might be closer to 8-9min, and you won't get the achievement. Also, don't hang around after opening the yellow rift, because the timer is already running.

Got my ring last night and my damage jumped up 700%. I ran a T7 to see how well I could do and I blew through it like it was a T2. I ran a T9 GRift earlier today and finished it in like 8 minutes. I'm liking this build but poison and arcane still fuck me up.

I had a good hard core night as well. I pushed solo as far as I think is safe. On my last solo run, things were taking a bit too long to die and I got clobbered a few times. I run the same build in normal but I have way more dps there. I need to figure out why.

Just made 766 and I am plowing through Rift 57 with ease. I get a little squishy though and am worried about switching to a defensive gem vs a power one

You're exactly 3 Ancients better than me. But it's very nearly the same build.[DOUBLEPOST=1456201412,1456201361][/DOUBLEPOST]I'm missing the ancient Aquila and ancient Quetzalcoatl.

Noted Diablo numbers guy Meathead Mikhail goes over damage mitigation, for those who are curious. As a player who has always built for survivability, I found it satisfying that others are confirming what I've been doing for so long.

tl;dr: For the purposes of this comparison, divide your armor value by ten and compare to your resists. You will gain the biggest toughness benefit from raising whichever one is lowest in that comparison. To state it a different way, Blizzard has implemented intentional diminishing returns as you raise these values, so while going from 11000 armor to 12000 armor will increase the amount of overall protection, the percentage of that increase will not be as large as it was when moving from 10000 armor to 11000 armor.

You didn't die, did you? Or did you have to kill the always healing burrowers but couldn't?
Did you survive??
No, I didn't die. It's on my SC char. I'm trying to Master the Marauder's set dungeon for my season journey. One of the requirements is "don't let any creatures get within melee range," but the dungeon includes rockworms which are allowed to ambush you invisibly right where you are standing and cause you to fail the dungeon. Plenty of people singing Blizzard's praises about this.

I did better this morning with Cranky's help. He ran ahead of me and baited out all the rockworms, but then I also discovered that when you complete all the basic requirements, this unlocks another, undisclosed requirement ("kill 50 additional creatures") you have to finish to get the "Master" ranking. We tried for 35min and managed to come down to 1 monster left to kill (a boss) with 10 seconds on the clock and he got "killed" (which fails the dungeon). Sooooo close.

You can do the dungeons with help. I would be happy to help sometime on the clean up portion at the end. I'm not sure what I could do for the other part.

You can do the dungeons with help.
Right, that's why I had Cranky helping me. And we would've had it too if it hadn't been for that last, meddling golgor.

According to other people online, this one can be done with someone just standing there at the entrance while their friends go and kill everything that moves. Because of this, it's considered one of the "easiest" ones.

And another update. Wanted some surviveability and wanted to switch to cold damage. Locust Swarm isn't doing much of the damage anymore, and if I find a fantastic Mask of Jeram I'm totally switching to something else for the weapon/helm slots.
If you want survivability, then I'm surprised you're not using Ice Climbers in place of the Fire Walkers, or Death Watch Mantle(dmg+slow)/Corruption(+pickup radius) in place of the Pauldrons.
Also, shame about that ring not being ancient yet.

Corruption won't work for me. I've tried to craft it 4 times and failed each time. I mean, it will go through the motions of the crafting screen, then it stops and won't let me go on, I have to back out. Then it eats the materials, which is BULLSHIT.

If I get a good Ice Climbers, I'm definitely going to switch.

And yeah, that MF Litany WON'T drop for me Ancient. I've been running the hell out of the game and I just can't get a good Ancient that I would even consider switching to. Someday (grumbles to self)...
