I guess at this point we'll have to see what happens with Clerks 3 and Mallrats 2.
Because he talks shit about other people's movies. Because he used to make good, interesting movies - Clerks, Mallrats, Dogma, and Chasing Amy were all very different but quite good movies. Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back was kind of dumb, but it was also funny. Clerks 2 was brilliant. Jersey Girl... was kind of meh. And that's the direction he's decided he'll follow. So fuck that guy and his stupid comic book store show on AMC.

Just saw Lobster with colin farrell as a guy who has to go to a facility where he has 45 days to couple up before he gets turned into an animal.
The first half is pretty ok, borderline good. It's got some good funny bits and the story moves forward pretty well. After the first half though it just completely falls apart. It just keeps going with no actual direction. The last 45 minutes is just there.

After he escapes and meets up with the single people in the woods, he could have just met that one girl and it would have been a perfectly mediocre movie. There's a point where the single people in the woods go back to the facility but instead of shutting it down or something they just...kinda sorta mess with the people there and maybe break a few of them up. I dunno, it just doesn't make that much sense.

Penguins of Madagascar movie
Holy shit was this fun, the penguins were just as great as always, John Malcovich plays a WONDERFUL evil octopus, and it has a great three-act structure.
My main qualm with this film(and the fact that its still a GOOD movie with them in it says something) is the North Wind, specifically Agent fucking classified. "Wow, great plan Skipper, especially after you LOST a team mate!" What th-THEY LOST HIM BECAUSE OF YOU YOU FUCKING TURD! DIE IN HELL BENEDICT CUMBERBATCH WOLF!
EITHER WAY-fun film.

Today I watched a new Taiwanese movie called The Tenants Downstairs.
It's okay. It's a thriller-slash-dark comedy about a landlord who owns an apartment building, and has a thing for violating his tenants' privacy. He starts messing with the residents' lives in increasingly cruel ways, until it looks like everything's going to end up in an explosive climax...
And then the movie goes for the ultimate cop-out ending.
The parts before the stupid ending were pretty interesting. The film explores the psyche of the voyeuristic landlord, as well as the lives and motivations of the tenants. But just as it's getting good, the movie pulls the rug from under its audience, and ends on a sour note.

Saw Star Trek: Beyond today with my Dad. Good not great. I enjoyed the general story and the action was fun, though at times it was too dark and too shaky.
The thing that beats the bad guy was also one of the best examples of cool-dumb since the entirety of Pacific Rim.
I still like the first one the best, but this one ranks above wrath of khan 2 electric Boogaloo.
7.5/10 plus pointd for a good Leonard Nimoy tribute. Minus points for Stringer Bell not super making sense.

The Visit.
It had great potential. Slow, tense burn leading to the climax of the movie, but spends too long on a couple boring bits and then too long in the post-twist area of the story. It was okay, but I can't imagine ever wanting to watch it again.

I saw Keanu tonight. I really enjoyed it.
Not sure what all I can say about it without giving things away. It's basically what you'd expect from the trailers. A couple of dudes get in way over their head to get a kitten back. It's great how there's like 4 different sets of people all after this one kitten. Key and Peele are both great. It even went in ways I wasnt expecting it to go in at times.

On that note, I recently rewatched Theater of Blood.
So hammy, and yet enjoyably hilarious.Every single time I watch it, I fall in love with that movie again.
In addition you get a young Diana Rigg (Lady Olenny Tyrell).
You can really see how much Vincent Price enjoys being able to play Shakespeare and still be his own self.
Forgot to make the addendum to how great the Vincent Price scenes, all of those were fucking gold. Every time he plugged himself back in was just mystifying.

Have you never read the book? It seems like something that would be up your alley, and is excellent for kids and adults.
It was first book I read in French, as well, and helped me a lot learning that.
No, but I'm keeping an eye out for it.
I feel you. I hated that book when I was a kid, and have no desire to watch the movie or read it again.
I still own this book in French.
The AP French class at my old high school (where I work) uses Little Prince as one of their projects. I wonder if people will try to cheat things now that there's a movie.
Using the movie to cheat about reading the book would be...obvious.
Just came back from Suicide Squad. Overall I liked it a lot. Not as much humour as I expected (much like the rest of the DC movie universe, this is a very dark movie), and there are seriously too many characters for what is a relatively short movie, so a lot of 'em wind up under-developed, but I still had a good time. Margot Robbie is a delight as Harley Quinn, and Viola Davis is properly chilling as Amanda Waller. And I liked Jared Leto's Joker. Happy overall. 
The last of their movies I saw in theaters was Coraline, so I really need to get off my ass and see this.
The Mermaid (the Chinese movie that came out this year)
It's decent. The plot is completely predictable (seriously, just start guessing, you'll probably get at least 80% right), but there are plenty of laughs. If you enjoyed Stephen Chow's recent writing and directorial offerings, like Journey to the West, Kung Fu Hustle, and Shaolin Soccer, then you'll probably enjoy this one. Though like Journey to the West, the humor is noticeably darker than his earlier works. For example, there's a scene where an octopus mer-man's tentacles are grilled, chopped, ground into mince, and eaten, all while still attached to his body, and all while he's standing there trying to look composed. The whole scene is played for laughs. It's like, you'll laugh at the funny scenes, and then after the movie is over you'll think back upon what you just laughed at and feel rather bad about yourself. Still though, it's a rather likeable film. Perhaps not quite as good as Journey to the West, but it's still worth a watch if you're a Stephen Chow fan.
Also the female lead is really hot and I hope to see more of her.
