You are incorrect.
Though really, it's my wife who'd really get it. She was tipsy once while watching the movie, and to her then-boyfriend's chagrin, started lampooning the movie: "Oh no! It's a rampaging rutabaga! <pause> A silly celery! <pause> A terrible turnip! Bwee-hee-heee-heeeee!"
If you want to go obscure, you should reference Island of Terror.

I'm talking about the novel, though. And the reference I was gonna make was to vegans facing a moral dilemma regarding their vitamin supplements.

It just felt too obscure, although maybe @Denbrought might've caught it.

I'm trying to think what film Animal House is most similar to, from my generation, to those of the 90's/0ughts...

I was going to say The Breakfast Club, but then I looked and found out it was from 1985.
The Commitments, maybe? Or Wet Hot American Summer?

--Patrick

American Pie I think is spot on. Van Wilder was a bad attempt at an AH2 by the National Lampoon people.

The Commitments, maybe? Or Wet Hot American Summer?
those are cult classics if you're being extremely generous.

Also, the point of those choice things are two very different women, not two nearly identical. It should be like, Babs and... Nancy Allen's character, that was dating the somewhat serious guy and the donald sutherland professor

Animal House is still important because it spawned the "college gross-out" genre in which a fraternity gets up to wild hijinks.

"They confiscated everything. Even the stuff we didn't steal!"

Btw, I wonder if Babs still works at Universal Studios.

No, they discontinued that a few years ago.
