Did anyone else watch Tremors 5? When the movie is reduced to having an animal piss on the main character, it's hitting Adam Sandler levels of garbage, and when you're not parodying, but straight-up ripping off scenes from Jurassic Park, it's just sad.
Plus, Jamie Kennedy as a tough guy? Really? The guy whose career "peaked" with Malibu's Most Wanted?

Here's the thing though: the first Tremors TV series managed to succeed largely by showing what effect the Graboids were having on the world and by introducing other cryptids. It managed to be REALLY funny this way. Ultimately, I don't see the show lasting for a long run, but there are things it could do to be fun.
I watched the documentary 15 Septembers Later. I still don't know why I put myself through that sadness. It did have a lot of new information about the attack.
Of course you get to see George W Bush actually act like a leader... It is so terrible that he went from being a good President to a (the) worst in just 2 years time.

Galavant! has turned out to be surprisingly funny. Kinda feel bad for not watching it when it was airing.
Now that it's on Netflix, wife and I started watching Supergirl tonight.
And oh man is that pilot episode bad. People warned me the show starts rough, and they weren't kidding. Really bad dialogue, forced and unearned emotional moments, several episodes' worth of exposition and set-up crammed into one episode.
The second episode feels like it's speaking to the first "start small, then work your way up." There's still dumb stuff though. Solid super-action, except the poorly-framed shots that make it look like what it is--two actors on wire slowly flailing at each other. That's why it's better to keep those super-fights on the move.
Third episode, nice going on the name drop. James, you are demoted back to Jimmy.
Fourth episode got a bit better, but I feel like Cat is an unnecessary character who gets more scenes than she should just because of the actress.
The show's at its best in the cuter moments and I like seeing a superhero saving people from normal stuff, not strictly just supervillains. It does improve each episode, and hopefully that improvement continues.

Will make a mental note. We'll probably do less binging, more one episode a night going forward, and aim to finish before Luke Cage goes on Netflix.
The guy doing the score needs to chill out during Cat's scenes though. She'll be giving a rant/"mentor" moment, meanwhile the music is trying to be stirring and excited, like it was meant to be used for a Supergirl flight scene.
Women can be stirring and exciting without punching someone.
I watched it while it was airing (at least the first season), but nobody else did. I loved King Richard. You've gotta love an evil warlord who needs a hug now and then.

For anyone confused on that, including Charlie, on why I'm calling him misogynist, see any conversation he's had with Sara. Yeah, having Dave delete them doesn't also wipe them from the minds of those who read them before the erasure.
Cat's not saying anything stirring or exciting in these scenes. The intent is for her to appear inspirational--while treating Kara like shit. I don't know whether the score guy is following bad direction, or is making the choice himself.

In some places I was seeing episode 4 as the improvement point, but we got to the end of episode 4 and my wife said "Are you sure that's when it gets better?" So I checked around and now everyone says episode 6. So we're almost there!
EDIT: Though again, it has been getting better each episode. It's not like it's a bunch of bad either, it's that scenes are wrestling between fun or interesting vs poor production decisions, and the ratio leans a little more towards the good stuff each episode. So I'm hoping by episode 7 that won't be a thing. Really the fight at the end of episode 2 is the best example. Most of it's good, except those couple of shots with angles that look really bad and don't serve the momentum of the scene. I stayed spoiler-free, so Episode 7's twist was a surprise to me. And considering I was expecting someone else (because of the character's name) and got one of my favorite characters instead, I'm probably biased, but I think the show really took off from that point.

I had to pause around the 15-minute mark, and immediately my wife said "Almost every character is pissing me off this episode." I knew General Lane was a shithead in the comics, but fuuuuck. Cat's mom reminds me of Bob Kelso in early seasons of Scrubs.

. She kind of predicted it though, but she wasn't sure until just before it was revealed.Only part of the episode I didn't like was Win (Wyn? spelling?) and his nice guy bullshit. Oh boo hoo, James and Kara hugged. 1. You know she likes him, 2. they were hugging they are friends, friends do that and you'd know if you had any, and 3. even if something was going on, it's none of your fucking business. "I'm disappointed in Kara," fuck you, Win. I really hope this potato sack never becomes the love interest.
But other than that, yeah, a lot of good stuff going on. I usually hate "I lost my powers" episodes of things, but this one was pretty solid. The DEO subplot was fine, and Kara had some excellent moments. Melissa Benoist has really been the strongest part of the show. I appreciate that the title of the episode didn't bother patronizing the viewer. The robbery scene was great and I loved how Kara reacted to it afterward back at the office. Between this and last episode, Cat is growing on me. Before it felt like the actress was fighting the script; now some equilibrium seems to have been reached.
That'll probably be it for the night, looking forward to what goes on next though.

Did anyone watch "Son of Zorn" tonight? I thought the premise was interesting, but I switched 15 minutes into it to go to the Pats/Cards game. It just wasn't holding my interest. Granted, he hadn't started his new life in Orange County yet, but if you can't grab me 15 minutes into the pilot episode, I don't think you'll do well later, either.
