About 9 years. The character was created in 1944, as a Timely Comics character. Her last humor/romance title was canceled in 1967 and the she becomes Hellcat in 1976. She's one of the oldest surviving Marvel characters up there with Namor and Captain America.
I think it's interesting from the perspective of seeing a hero actually have a real, palpable recoil due to traumatic events. She took a missile to the chest and her cousin was straight-up murdered by another hero who walked away scot-free (and hailed as an even bigger hero). Other heroes have gone through big events like this, but I don't know that one has had this interesting of a start since, like, Demon In A Bottle.

Yes, but I'm also not a fan of the events leading up to PTSD, either. (i.e. missile, Civil War II,etc.). I like when She-Hulk revels in her Hulkiness. It's not that it's without reason, it's just disappointing this is the arc they've given her character.
On the scale that is the super-hero genre the boob missile is pretty low, and dwelling on it is genre breaking. The idea that it nearly killed her is dumb as hell and just Bendis being one of the laziest writers in comics.

The first issue seems to focus more on her issues with Bruce's death over the missile after skimming it over again, but yeah I do agree the events leading up to all these changes are garbage.
I did look at Civil War II's conclusion if you can call it that. So now we're stuck with Ulysses hanging around the cosmic side whenever better books like The Ultimates get rolling on some cosmic event.
And it's not even done! There's still aftermath or the oath; I forget.

Hopefully Bendis won't be writing him. Historically, Bendis OCs are handled great in better writers' hands. Same with Slott. I mean, even Silk is okay.

It'll probably be Ewing; I'm just annoyed this shit is going to hang around. I feel like Bendis originally intended him to die, but now he'll be present in Eternity War whenever that happens.
I don't know about a national scale, but I had a hard time finding any of the issues in my local shops. They ordered so few they were usually sold out when I asked. It's hard to buy a book you can't get a hold of.
Didn't mean to dump this topic, but I know from my stores experience we did okay with the series. It started out strong and petered out. It did well enough that we kept ordering some to go out (as opposed to only carrying it for subscribers), but we slimed it down to only a few copies. How soon were you asking for the books? Comic sales for a single issue tend to drop heavily (like 90%) after the first week on the stands so many stores order based on that fact.
...wait, the shithead Marvel turned into Cyclops is...DEAD?! FUCK YES!
ALSO-read New 52 Harley Quinn volume one from the library and it is....pretty much Deadpool...like almost exactly in tone. Its not bad mind you, but the apartment she has on Coney Island might as well be Hellhouse, Poison Ivy oddly enough feels like Weasel, and the random people Harley kills might as well be the same random people Deadpool kills. Hell, she even has a love interest that she's pining over but ultimately shoudn't/can't get back together with, its uncanny!
Batman Rebirth 14: The rooftops part one.
....holy crap...did they do a TASTEFUL sex scene with Catwoman and Batman on the roof? Granted-it looked like some mind control spores there-
BUT STILL!
And Green Lanterns continues to have hollow victories for Baz-man and J-bird.

Yeah that is new isn't it? Kinda neutral to it, as I like to think its Bruce's futile way of making their steamy ridiculous relationship professional-BUT of course to no avail.
ALSO-think they'll bring back Zebraman? Or everyone else in Cheetah's frozen menagerie? Seriously, I get taking out the Blood Pack in one fowl stroke, but Elephantman is a giant elephant man!
Spoilers: apparently he was among the 1st to die form the Terrigen Mist cloud, and Emma has been just projecting his image in everyone's mind since or something...
How about spoilers in the spoilers tag, yeah? You put your theory in spoilers but not the actual spoiler.
Anyway, another excellent issue. I need to send some fan message to Tom King that wife and I are loving his run. If all he sees is Reddit, he might have the wrong idea because Kite Man aside, they seem to hate it there.
