This is a meme going around right now and thought it'd be fun to post our lists and discuss our choices. The rule is you look up the list of movies released for each year, starting with your birth year, and choose ONE movie as your favourite from that year.
If you google "movies in [year]" it gives you a handy, easy-to-scroll list of at least the top, most memorable movies. Some films I had to google to double check the year it released.
Some of my choices were hard as hell. Most years became a choice between two movies. Some were easy as soon as I saw a movie listed. I was like, "Iron Giant in 1999? Yup. No contest." Others were hard as hell, like The Avengers vs Cloud Atlas, or Captain America: The First Avengers beating out both The Muppets and Rise of the Planet of the Apes. Or Guardians of the Galaxy vs Winter Soldier.
My most heartbreaking was unquestionably The Incredibles vs. Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. I spent over five minutes agonizing over my choice because they're both on my Top 10 and I love them both for entirely different reasons. I eventually went with The Incredibles, but it was a hard decision.
I do love that my list starts with Superman. I think that's appropriate for me.
