Got basically all the heavy furniture moved onto my new apartment. I just need my mattress and bedframe to come in and I'll be able to fully move out.

While the end is still near as far as the big picture is concerned, short term I've been told I won't be hurting for hours for the foreseeable future. Likely I could wind up seeing a fair amount of OT. More money for me.

Official cleared to get lasers shot at my eyes on May 11. Went with PRK over LASIK just because my prescription is so strong that the surgeon recommended having the extra wiggle room. Minor victory because I am anxious as fuck.

Well, I got LASIK, and not PRK, but they did slice my cornea open to do it. No pain at all. In fact, the wet paintbrush thing they use to move the flap kinda felt nice. Really, the downers are just there to keep you relaxed and not twitch/flinch/wiggle around while they do their thing. I guess, the only word of caution is, when they say "don't rub your eyes for a week or two" they mean it.

Well, the difference is that PRK requires longer to heal, because they don't make a flap, they just bore in there.[DOUBLEPOST=1493406912,1493406658][/DOUBLEPOST]Ok, bore into there is not quite correct, but it's still a longer healing time.

I haven't had a reddit post blow up that much. Best I've done is a tumblr post at 3750 notes and counting. Next best one has a measly 95-ish.

So, every year, I give away a few books for Michaels Cares. I've posted about it before: I donate some books, they auction them off (the proceeds going to the charity), and I come in and sign them and talk with the winners a bit.

I have misplaced my ad copy of the flyer I made previously, so I started making a new one from scratch. I was searching the web for reviews to add blurbs to the flyer, when I stumbled across this:

If I need it now, I don't even bother with their site anymore, because even if I find what I want, 99 times out of 100 it's an online only item. I've got Amazon for that.

Went to an SCA event last month, ended up having to break up a domestic between two friends of mine - to the poit that if I hadn't been drunk and had my cuffs with me, I'd have made an arrest, pending arrival of local PD.

Because it happened at an event, it was investigated and reported on by Society staff. The investigator wrote my chief a letter. Got a small commendation in my file today.
