The Preds did it without a single #1 overall draft pick, and only two top five picks in the last 20 years. In fact, the Preds average first round pick has been 10th or later.

The Habs management wanted PK gone, and they dropped an offer GMDP couldn't refuse. Personally, I think that's why we finally got to the Final: Poile got over the regret he had over the Stevens trade and it worked.

It doesn't matter what team wins that thing, it gets paraded somewhere near me every year. Often in so many very small parades, like the one in my grandfather's town, where the Cup was placed in his lap as he sat in a lawn chair in his front yard.

I actually think it would be harder to see the thing if the Leafs won it (ha!)
