Ok, reporting in on my experience with the Frenzy set. It's... it's absolutely ridiculous.
Up until I got all the pieces, I was running IK/WW with a
Heart Slaughter (because I hadn't found either of the Bul-Kathos swords, the hexing pants, or the channeling shoulders yet). T10 is about as high as I could go solo, T11 was survivable but I couldn't really kill fast enough to hunt there unless the pylons went in my favor. I tried a T13 rift and couldn't even go much beyond the door without dying.
Then I complete the Savages set. With
Bastion's Revered in the cube,
The Undisputed Champion around my waist, and
Oathkeeper and
The Burning Axe of Sankis in hand, I tried a T10 rift. It was a laugh-fest. GR60 is the highest I can reach after completing a greater rift in multi-player, so I try that. A bit of a challenge since my Simplicity's Strength isn't high enough level yet to actually heal me, but my cubed
Band of Might keeps me alive while I make mincemeat of the Rift Guardian. So I start climbing GR's to level my SS gem until it can heal me. I'm also running the Gogok of Swiftness and the Bane of the Stricken, but those are only level 11-12, so I don't get their full benefits. GR63, GR66, then GR68, and now SS is high enough to heal me.
"Ok," I think. "Let's go all the way to max." So I switch over to T16 difficulty to see if I can go through a yellow T16 rift (just to test the difficulty AND because completing it will unlock GR75 for me to complete the conquest). I have to lean on the Band of Might a lot more than I'd like, but now my SS gem is high enough that every hit heals me for 4% of my total health, and I'm hitting 10-15 times/sec. I heal so fast that unless a critter can kill me in one hit, I
just don't die. Poison? Desecrator? Lightning? Doesn't matter, my health globe just stays full. I finish the T16 rift, only dying
once. This build doesn't ever spend Fury, so if I'd bothered to cube an
Aquila Cuirass (in place of the Furnace I have there now), I probably wouldn't have died at all.
Guys, my Axe is ancient, but my Oathbreaker isn't. It's just a normal Mighty Weapon, I'm mainly wielding it for the legendary bonus it gives to my speed. And I still finished T16.
Oh, and
neither my Axe nor my Oathbreaker are socketed. No gem in
either of my two weapons, one of 'em isn't even ancient, and I'm
still clearing T16 with only minor difficulty.
That's how ridiculous this set is. Oh, and it absolutely
destroys Treasure Demons.
Later, after I've leveled the Gogok and BStricken, maybe I'll replace all my armor gems with diamonds or amethysts, switch my Paragon points over to pure Vitality, and see just how far the set bonus can take me. I haven't even tried to work the bonus from a pair of
Depth Diggers in yet, but I'm already thinking we're talking about a set that can easily do GR90 and up. Now that Bastion's Revered has been reworked, I can't wait to see if there's a viable build with either the Legacy of Nightmares rings or the Legacy of Dreams stone.
Oh, and as an aside, enemies that can detect you and charge at you from off screen and kill you in one hit are utter bullshit.
EDIT: Ok, I finally got some gifts so I can put some sockets in these things. With emeralds in both weapons, I'm now critting for 125-200 billion per hit. And as I said earlier, I hit at least 10-15 times/sec. This is insane.
EDIT2: Yeah, according to d3planner.com, my current, unoptimized build is doing 628billion dps. Sheesh.
