Former President and Convicted Felon Trump Thread

Back again, but only because I couldn't avoid all political talk, even though I am trying.

We worked really hard in Texas to flip the state and on the first day I felt pretty sad over what I saw, but the fact is we also have not finished our counts (2m left) and have since brought down Trump's lead to around 5%. (600k votes). A friend pointed this out to me only a few minutes ago and I had to look into it more, just because it makes me feel more hopeful for the future.

Of course unless the remaining votes are outrageously slanted towards Biden, there is no way we flip, but it shows that we actually did a stronger shift then it looked like was going to happen. Oddly enough, it was the Hispanic vote that gutted us, as a ton of border counties, for reasons I can't even fathom, flipped heavily for Trump compared to the overwhelming vote they gave Hilary in 2016. If that didn't happen, the map may have looked a whole lot different.

Anyways, back to the deprivation chamber. I know Biden is in the lead now but I don't want to jinx anything by reading anymore.

There's a lot of talk about how Democrats failed to court the Latino vote, and various policy issues, but if you ask me it comes down to one thing: computerized voting machines in Texas don't leave a paper trail.

I can only speak for my county, and while it was true is past years, this year we used a new election machine that prints out a paper copy of the vote that is put into a physical ballot box. I double checked the paper to make sure it listed my barcode and the names of all the people I voted for. Again, can only speak for my own county, it could be they still use pure computer machines near the border, but the one I used felt way more physically tracible.

Not true in my county, and there's no requirement in Texas for that paper trail to be produced.

It was the same in Florida though too. I’m not saying that there’s no way you’re right, but it seems to be a trend in other states as well. Not just Texas.

The electronic voting machine I used also spat out a paper ballot... but it would not surprise me to find it different from county to county.

(Off-topic, but when Li'l Z found Bluey on Disney+, I thought he was a little old for it and I was going to write it off. But our dog is actually a Blue Heeler/Lab mix, and damn, do I love the way they write the adults on that show, especially Bandit and Stripe!)
It’s so hard to tell whether the adults are just pretending, or if it’s actually happening. It’s a super fun show.

There are lots of little clues on the re-watching that it is pretending and not real for most of the episodes. We have seriously watched every episode multiple times. And they just released the latest season here in Oz. There are some real winners. We especially like the show because they create it here in Brisbane and so we recognize a lot of the locations that inspire the settings.

There are, but when you’re only half watching and doing something else, you kinda stop and have to watch to see if it’s pretend or real.

I can totally see him barricading himself in the oval office and then offing himself. It would be the insane end to the orange fuhrer we all are secretly expecting.

It's always nice to have a backup power generator.

Why we can be confident:

‘USA Today’ said:
Trump supporters were less inclined to take part in expanded mail-voting than Joe Biden supporters, so Trump supporters dominated the Election Day vote. Biden supporters dominated mail-voting by a 2-to-1 margin.
