Doom as alternate universe Stark, maybe?
This makes a little more sense. Sort of a "What If ...things went horribly wrong with Tony Stark". And he wasn't raised by Howard Stark. But will he talk in the 3rd person?!?
I doubt they are going to do this without trying to make it a complete surprise twist. Kinda takes the oomph out of it if they announce it before the film is even made.
It's the combination of bringing back The Russos AND RDJ that concerns me. I get they had to do something to move on from Kang, but this just reeks of desperation. I wanted new voices and new faces.
Close... but he's already back as someone else...
Canonically he's actually playing the same character, a human agent employed by (or maybe conning) the watchers.
Y'know, I actually think RDJ could've played a fine Doom if he wasn't already an iconic Tony Stark. Like, in another timeline we could've gotten Sam Rockwell as Tony Stark, and then eventually one day RDJ gets cast as Doom, and everyone would probably react like, "Unexpected, but it could probably work."
So, what does that mean for F4? No doom in their movie? I don't really mind if he transforms himself and doesn't do smartass quips.
We also don't know if this is just a cameo/multiverse doom not the actual doom. But I guess they would want it keep that a surprise.
There's an ultimates storyline where Tony Stark becomes doctor doom.
There's also an elseworlds story where Doctor Doom is a raccoon.
I think for the people that feel disappointed in this casting, these don't matter. They were hoping for some classic form of Victor Von Doom.
I honestly don’t care what they do with Doom. Starks death held so much weight, I would have preferred to have him stay dead. We'll see what happens though, it’s too early to say much.
I'm hoping for some classic form of Victor Von Doom. Rivalry with Richards aside, dude is a calculating, interesting antihero, and I would like to seem him portrayed as such on screen instead of the cosmic robot alternate universe stuff we've gotten so far.

I mean, its definitely GOREY enough for a Kraven origin story, but I'm really hoping it ends with him being a villain. Sergei ain't no anti-hero, a friendly gym teacher at best, but he be bad.
I'd add a comment about how bad the Rhino looks or how its a movie about a Spider-man villain who hasn't fought Spider-man, but that's been said to death all ready.

Nope, delayed several times, always adding to the feeling of a great success for this movie.
I thought it released all ready to, was thinking "Trailer for...the Disney Plus release?"
After the smashing success that was Madam Web they moved the release back, licking their wounds after Web and Morbius, they moved it again for a little “retooling” and moved again because the committee making it couldn’t agree on everything, Across the Spiderverse was a success and they finally settled on a release date so far that has stood but can always change. Yeah, I’m feeling the success of this his movie.
I really hope this is as fun as it looks.
That looks like some fun popcorn movie stuff. I hope it plays out the same way.

I was wondering about the asterisk, so looked into that. Kevin Feige said, "Yes, you’ll notice the asterisk on Thunderbolts. That is the official title of Thunderbolts and we won’t talk more about that until after the movie comes out."
This could either end up feeling like the first Suicide Squad movie, or it could end up feeling like the first Avengers movie. I hope it's the latter but I fear it may be the former.
Also, just to check, isn't Sentry basically in the Hulk or Thor's tier in the comics? Or even higher? So if Sentry is meant to be the antagonist for this film, how are these guys supposed to be able to do anything to him? Maybe they disable him through his agoraphobia?
